< Titus 2 >

1 But speak thou the things that are fitting for the sound doctrine.
But say the things which fit sound doctrine,
2 Aged men are to be sober, noble, serious minded, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.
that older men should be sober-minded, worthy of respect, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:
3 Aged women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderous, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of what is good,
and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;
4 so that they may admonish the young women to be sensible, to love their husbands, to love their children,
that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 to be serious-minded, pure, homemakers, good, submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and being subject to their own husbands, so that God's word may not be discredited.
6 Likewise exhort the younger men to be sober-minded.
Likewise, exhort the younger men to be self-controlled;
7 Concerning all things presenting thyself a pattern of good works in the doctrine: incorruption, dignity, incorruptibility,
in all things showing yourself an example of good works. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness,
8 sound speech, irreproachable, so that the man of opposition may be ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.
and a sound message that cannot be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.
9 Bondmen are to be obedient to their own masters, to be well-pleasing in all things, not speaking contrary,
Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;
10 not pilfering, but demonstrating all good fidelity, so that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
not stealing, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things.
11 For the saving grace of God has appeared to all men,
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people,
12 disciplining us, so that, having denied irreverence and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and piously in the present age. (aiōn g165)
instructing us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age; (aiōn g165)
13 Awaiting the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus (the) Messiah;
14 who gave himself for us, so that he might redeem us from all lawlessness, and purify to himself a special people, a zealot of good works.
who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
15 These things speak and exhort and rebuke with every command. Let no man disregard thee.
Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one despise you.
