Revelation 21
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more.
Et je vis un nouveau ciel et une nouvelle terre, car le premier ciel et la première terre ont disparu, et je ne vis plus la mer.
2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, having been prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Et je vis la ville sainte, Jérusalem nouvelle, descendant du ciel d'auprès de Dieu, préparée comme une épouse qui s'est faite belle pour son mari,
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.
et j'entendis sortir du trône une voix forte qui disait: « Voici le tabernacle de Dieu dressé parmi les hommes, Et Il habitera avec eux, et ils seront Ses peuples, Et Dieu Lui-même sera avec eux comme leur Dieu,
4 And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And there will not be any more death, nor grief, nor crying, nor will there be any more anguish, because the former things are gone.
Et Dieu essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux. Et la mort ne sera plus; Il n'y aura plus ni deuil, ni cris, ni peine. Les premières choses ont disparu. »
5 And he who sits upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he says to me, Write, because these words are true and faithful.
Et Celui qui est assis sur le trône dit: « Eh bien, voici, Je renouvelle toutes choses. » Et il dit: Écris, car ces paroles sont dignes de foi et véritables. »
6 And he said to me, I have become, I, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him who is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Et Il me dit: « C'est fait. C'est Moi qui suis l'alpha et l'oméga, le commencement et la fin; à celui qui a soif Je donnerai gratuitement de l'eau de la vie.
7 He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be God to him, and he will be a son to me.
Le vainqueur possédera ces choses, et Je serai leur Dieu et il sera pour Moi un fils;
9 And there came one of the seven agents who had the seven bowls containing the seven last plagues, and he spoke with me, saying, Come, I will show thee the woman, the bride of the Lamb.
Et l'un d'entre les sept anges qui tiennent les sept coupes qui sont remplies des sept derniers fléaux survint, et s'adressant à moi il me dit: « Viens, je te montrerai l'épouse, la femme de l'agneau. »
10 And he carried me away in spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, holy Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
Et il me transporta en esprit sur une grande et haute montagne, et il me montra la ville sainte, Jérusalem, descendant du ciel d'auprès de Dieu.
11 having the glory of God, the light of it similar to a most precious stone, like a jasper stone being crystal clear,
Son luminaire était semblable à une pierre de très grand prix, comme à une pierre de jaspe cristallin.
12 which has a great and high wall having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve agents, and names inscribed, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel:
Elle avait une grande et haute muraille; elle avait douze portes, et des noms écrits, qui sont les noms des douze tribus des fils d'Israël.
13 from the east, three gates, and from the north, three gates, and from the south, three gates, and from the west, three gates.
Du côté de l'orient trois portes, et du côté du nord trois portes, et du côté de l'occident trois portes, et du côté du midi trois portes.
14 And the wall of the city having twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Et la muraille de la ville a douze bases et sur elles les douze noms des douze apôtres de l'agneau.
15 And he who spoke with me had a measure, a golden reed, so that he might measure the city, and the gates of it, and the walls of it.
Et celui qui me parlait avait pour mesure un roseau d'or, afin de mesurer la ville, et ses portes, et sa muraille;
16 And the city lies foursquare, and the length of it is as great as the breadth. And he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs, the length and the breadth and the height of it being equal.
et la ville forme un carré, et sa longueur égale sa largeur; et il mesura la ville avec son roseau, ce qui donna douze mille stades. La longueur et la largeur et la hauteur en sont égales.
17 And he measured the wall of it, a hundred and forty-four forearms, a measure of a man, that is, of an agent.
Et il mesura sa muraille, ce qui donna cent quarante-quatre coudées, mesure d'homme, qui est celle de l'ange.
18 And the structure of its wall was jasper. And the city was pure gold, similar to clear glass.
Et les matériaux de sa muraille étaient de jaspe, et la ville était d'or pur, semblable à du pur cristal.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second, sapphire, the third, chalcedony, the fourth, emerald,
Les bases de la muraille de la ville étaient ornées de toute espèce de pierres précieuses: la première base était de jaspe, la seconde de saphir, la troisième de chalcédoine, la quatrième d'émeraude,
20 the fifth, sardonyx, the sixth, sardius, the seventh, chrysolite, the eighth, beryl, the ninth, topaz, the tenth, chrysoprase, the eleventh, jacinth, the twelfth, amethyst.
la cinquième de sardonyx, la dixième de sardoine, la septième de chrysolithe, la huitième de bérylle, la neuvième de topaze, la dixième de chrysopras, la onzième de hyacinthe, la douzième d'améthyste.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls apiece, each one of the gates was of one pearl. And the thoroughfare of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
Et les douze portes étaient douze perles; chaque porte prise à part était d'une seule perle; et la grande rue de la ville était d'or pur, comme du cristal transparent.
22 And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty is the temple of it, and the Lamb.
Et je n'y vis point de sanctuaire; car le Seigneur Dieu, le Tout-Puissant, est son sanctuaire, ainsi que l'agneau.
23 And the city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, so that they might shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and the light of it is the Lamb.
Et la ville n'a besoin ni du soleil ni de la lune, pour qu'ils l'éclairent; car la gloire de Dieu l'a illuminée et l'agneau est son flambeau.
24 And the nations will walk by the light of it. And the kings of the earth bring to them the splendor and worth of the nations into it.
Et les nations marcheront à sa lumière, et les rois transportent chez elle leur gloire,
25 And the gates of it will, no, not be locked by day, for there will be no night there.
et ses portes ne seront point fermées de jour (car il n'y aura là pas de nuit),
26 And they will bring the splendor and the worth of the nations into it.
et ils apporteront chez elle la gloire et l'honneur des nations.
27 And there will, no, not enter into it anything profane, and doing an abomination and a lie, since they are not written in the Lamb's book of life.
Et il n'entrera certainement chez elle rien de souillé, ni personne qui pratique l'abomination et le mensonge, mais seulement ceux qui sont inscrits dans le livre de vie de l'agneau.
