Psalms 1

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers,

Beato l'uomo che non segue il consiglio degli empi, non indugia nella via dei peccatori e non siede in compagnia degli stolti;

2 but his delight is in the law of Jehovah, and on his law he meditates day and night.

ma si compiace della legge del Signore, la sua legge medita giorno e notte.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. And whatever he does shall prosper.

Sarà come albero piantato lungo corsi d'acqua, che darà frutto a suo tempo e le sue foglie non cadranno mai; riusciranno tutte le sue opere.

4 The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Non così, non così gli empi: ma come pula che il vento disperde;

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

perciò non reggeranno gli empi nel giudizio, né i peccatori nell'assemblea dei giusti.

6 For Jehovah knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.

Il Signore veglia sul cammino dei giusti, ma la via degli empi andrà in rovina.
