Psalms 94
1 O Jehovah, thou God to whom vengeance belongs, thou God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth.
О Боже помсти, Господи, Боже помсти, з’яви Себе!
2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth. Render to the proud a recompense.
Піднімися, Судде землі, віддай гордим по заслугам!
3 Jehovah, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
Аж доки нечестиві, Господи, доки нечестиві торжествувати будуть?
4 They prate, they speak arrogantly. All the workers of iniquity boast themselves.
Вивергають, промовляють вони пиху, нахваляються всі, хто чинить гріх.
5 They break in pieces thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thy heritage.
Народ Твій, Господи, вони вражають ударами й пригнічують Твій спадок.
6 They kill the widow and the sojourner, and murder the fatherless.
Вдову й приходька вбивають, сироту гублять
7 And they say, Jehovah will not see, nor will the God of Jacob consider.
кажучи: «Не бачить Господь, і не вникає [в це] Бог Якова».
8 Consider, ye brutish among the people, and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
Схаменіться, невігласи серед народу! Коли ви станете розумнішими, безумці?
9 He who planted the ear, shall he not hear? He who formed the eye, shall he not see?
Той, Хто насадив вухо, хіба не почує? Чи Той, Хто око створив, не побачить?
10 He who chastises the nations, shall he not correct, even he who teaches man knowledge?
Той, Хто народи карає, хіба не докорить? Той, Хто сам людині дає знання?
11 Jehovah knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Господь знає думки людини, що вони – марнота.
12 Blessed is the man whom thou chasten, O Jehovah, and teach out of thy law,
Блаженний муж, якого Ти наставляєш, Господи, і Законом Твоїм навчаєш його,
13 that thou may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for a wicked man.
щоб заспокоїти його у дні лиха, поки буде викопана яма нечестивому!
14 For Jehovah will not cast off his people, nor will he forsake his inheritance.
Адже не покине Господь народу Свого й спадку Свого не полишить.
15 For judgment shall return to righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
Суд знову стане справедливим, і підуть услід за ним усі, праведні серцем.
16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
Хто стане за мене проти злодіїв? Хто стоятиме за мене проти тих, що чинять гріх?
17 Unless Jehovah had been my help, my soul would have soon dwelt in silence.
Якби Господь не був допомогою моєю, то оселилася б душа моя в [країні] мовчання.
18 When I said, My foot slips, thy loving kindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
Коли сказав я: «Хитається нога моя», милість Твоя, Господи, підтримала мене.
19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Коли тривожні думки множаться в нутрі моєму, Твоя втіха збадьорює мою душу.
20 Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, which frames mischief by statute?
Хіба може мати щось спільне з Тобою престол загибелі, що діє всупереч постанові [Закону]?
21 They gather themselves together against the soul of a righteous man, and condemn innocent blood.
Натовпом тиснуть вони на душу праведника, і кров невинну засуджують [на страту].
22 But Jehovah has been my high tower, and my God the rock of my refuge.
Але Господь став моєю твердинею, і Бог мій – скеля мого притулку.
23 And he has brought upon them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness. Jehovah our God will cut them off.
Він поверне проти них їхні власні гріхи і їхніми ж злодійствами знищить їх; знищить їх Господь, Бог наш.
