Psalms 91

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Kto mieszka pod osłoną Najwyższego, w cieniu Wszechmocnego przebywać będzie.

2 I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.

Będę mówił o PANU: Moja ucieczka i twierdza, mój Bóg, jemu będę ufał.

3 For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.

Zaprawdę, on wybawi cię z sideł łowcy [i] od zgubnej zarazy.

4 He will cover thee with his pinions, and under his wings shall thou take refuge. His truth is a shield and a buckler.

Okryje cię swymi piórami i pod jego skrzydłami będziesz bezpieczny; jego prawda [będzie ci] tarczą i puklerzem.

5 Thou shall not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day,

Nie ulękniesz się strachu nocnego ani strzały lecącej za dnia;

6 for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

Ani zarazy, [która] przychodzi w ciemności, ani dżumy, [która] pustoszy w południe.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come near thee.

Tysiąc padnie u twego boku, a dziesięć tysięcy po twojej prawicy, [lecz] ciebie to nie dosięgnie.

8 Thou shall only behold with thine eyes, and see the reward of the wicked.

Tylko zobaczysz na własne oczy i ujrzysz zapłatę daną niegodziwym.

9 For thou, O Jehovah, are my refuge! Thou have made the Most High thy habitation.

Ponieważ PANA, moją ucieczkę [i] Najwyższego, uczyniłeś swoim mieszkaniem;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, nor shall any plague come near thy tent,

Nie spotka cię nic złego ani [żadna] plaga nie zbliży się do twego namiotu.

11 for he will give his agents charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Rozkaże bowiem o tobie swoim aniołom, aby cię strzegli na wszystkich twoich drogach.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Na rękach będą cię nosić, byś przypadkiem nie uderzył swojej nogi o kamień.

13 Thou shall tread upon the lion and adder. The young lion and the serpent thou shall trample under foot.

Będziesz stąpał po lwie i po żmii, lwiątko i smoka podepczesz.

14 Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known my name.

Wybawię go, bo mnie umiłował; wywyższę go, bo poznał moje imię.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.

Będzie mnie wzywał, a ja go wysłucham; będę z nim w utrapieniu, wyrwę go i otoczę chwałą.

16 I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.

Długimi dniami go nasycę i ukażę mu moje zbawienie.
