< Psalms 90 >
1 Lord, thou have been our dwelling-place in all generations.
Ihooya rĩa Musa, ndungata ya Ngai JEHOVA, nĩwe ũtũũrĩte ũrĩ gĩikaro giitũ kuuma njiarwa na njiarwa.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or thou had ever formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou are God.
O mbere ya irĩma kũgĩa kuo kana ũkĩũmba thĩ na mabũrũri, kuuma tene nginya tene, Wee ũrĩ o Mũrungu.
3 Thou turn man to destruction, and say, Return, ye sons of men.
Wee ũcookagia andũ magatuĩka rũkũngũ, ũkoiga atĩrĩ, “Cookai rũkũngũ-inĩ, inyuĩ ciana ici cia andũ.”
4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Nĩgũkorwo mĩaka ngiri harĩwe no ta mũthenya wa ira ũrĩa ũrahĩtũkire, kana ta ituanĩra rĩmwe rĩa arangĩri a ũtukũ.
5 Thou carry them away as with a flood. They are as a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up.
Ũhaataga andũ, ũkameeheria, magakoma toro wa gĩkuũ; andũ mahaana ta nyeki ĩrĩa ĩringũkaga rũciinĩ:
6 In the morning it flourishes, and grows up. In the evening it is cut down, and withers.
o na gũtuĩka rũciinĩ nĩĩringũkaga, hwaĩ-inĩ ĩhoohaga, ĩkooma.
7 For we are consumed in thine anger, and in thy wrath are we troubled.
Tũniinagwo nĩ marakara maku, na tũkamakio mũno nĩ marũrũ maku.
8 Thou have set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
Nĩũigĩte wĩhia witũ o mbere yaku, mehia maitũ marĩa mahithe ũkamoimĩria o ũtheri-inĩ hau mbere yaku.
9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath. We bring our years to an end as a sigh.
Matukũ maitũ mothe maniinagwo nĩ mangʼũrĩ maku; tũninũkagia mĩaka iitũ na gũcaaya.
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years, yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for it is soon gone, and we fly away.
Mũigana wa matukũ maitũ-rĩ, nĩ mĩaka mĩrongo mũgwanja, kana mĩrongo ĩnana, tũngĩkorwo tũrĩ na hinya; no rĩrĩ, mũigana wamo no thĩĩna na kĩeha, nĩgũkorwo mathiraga o narua, na ithuĩ tũgathiĩ, tũkabuĩria.
11 Who knows the power of thine anger, and thy wrath according to the fear that is due to thee?
Nũũ ũũĩ hinya wa marakara maku? Nĩgũkorwo mangʼũrĩ maku nĩ manene o ta gwĩtigĩrwo kũrĩa wagĩrĩire.
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom.
Tuonie gũtara matukũ maitũ wega, nĩgeetha tũgĩe na ngoro ya ũũgĩ.
13 Return, O Jehovah. How long? And relent concerning thy servants.
Wee Jehova, hoorera! Nĩ nginya rĩ? Iguĩra ndungata ciaku tha.
14 O satisfy us in the morning with thy loving kindness, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Rũciinĩ tũhũũnagie na wendo waku ũtathiraga, nĩguo tũinage nĩ gũkena na tũcanjamũkage matukũ maitũ mothe.
15 Make us glad according to the days in which thou have afflicted us, and the years in which we have seen evil.
Tũma tũkene matukũ maingĩ o ta marĩa ũtũnyamarĩtie, na mĩaka mĩingĩ o ta ĩrĩa tuonete thĩĩna.
16 Let thy work appear to thy servants, and thy glory upon their sons.
Ndungata ciaku irokĩonio ciĩko ciaku, naguo riiri waku wonio ciana ciao.
17 And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us. And establish thou the work of our hands upon us, yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
Wega wa Mwathani Ngai witũ ũrogĩa na ithuĩ; tũma wĩra wa moko maitũ ũgaacĩre, ĩĩ-ni, kĩrũmie wĩra wa moko maitũ.
