Psalms 9
1 I will give thanks to Jehovah with my whole heart. I will show forth all thy marvelous works.
| למנצח על-מות לבן מזמור לדוד ב אודה יהוה בכל-לבי אספרה כל-נפלאותיך |
2 I will be glad and exult in thee. I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High.
| אשמחה ואעלצה בך אזמרה שמך עליון |
3 When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish at thy presence.
| בשוב-אויבי אחור יכשלו ויאבדו מפניך |
4 For thou have maintained my right and my cause. Thou sit in the throne judging righteously.
| כי-עשית משפטי ודיני ישבת לכסא שופט צדק |
5 Thou have rebuked the nations. Thou have destroyed the wicked. Thou have blotted out their name forever and ever.
| גערת גוים אבדת רשע שמם מחית לעולם ועד |
6 The enemy have come to an end. They are desolate forever, and the cities which thou have overthrown. The very memory of them is perished,
| האויב תמו חרבות--לנצח וערים נתשת--אבד זכרם המה |
7 but Jehovah will endure forever. He has prepared his throne for judgment,
| ויהוה לעולם ישב כונן למשפט כסאו |
8 and he will judge the world in righteousness. He will minister justice to the peoples in uprightness.
| והוא ישפט-תבל בצדק ידין לאמים במישרים |
9 Jehovah will also be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble.
| ויהי יהוה משגב לדך משגב לעתות בצרה |
10 And those who know thy name will put their trust in thee, for thou, Jehovah, have not forsaken those who seek thee.
| ויבטחו בך יודעי שמך כי לא-עזבת דרשיך יהוה |
11 Sing praises to Jehovah, who dwells in Zion. Declare among the people his doings.
| זמרו--ליהוה ישב ציון הגידו בעמים עלילותיו |
12 For he who makes inquiry for blood remembers them. He does not forget the cry of the poor.
| כי-דרש דמים אותם זכר לא-שכח צעקת עניים (ענוים) |
13 Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah. Behold my affliction from those who hate me, thou who lifts me up from the gates of death
| חננני יהוה--ראה עניי משנאי מרוממי משערי מות |
14 that I may show forth all thy praise. In the gates of the daughter of Zion I will rejoice in thy salvation.
| למען אספרה כל-תהלתיך בשערי בת-ציון--אגילה בישועתך |
15 The nations are sunk down in the pit that they made. In the net which they hid, their own foot is taken.
| טבעו גוים בשחת עשו ברשת-זו טמנו נלכדה רגלם |
16 Jehovah has made himself known. He has executed justice. The wicked man is snared in the work of his own hands. (Higgaion, Selah)
| נודע יהוה--משפט עשה בפעל כפיו נוקש רשע הגיון סלה |
| ישובו רשעים לשאולה כל-גוים שכחי אלהים (Sheol h7585) |
18 For a needy man shall not always be forgotten, nor the expectation of the poor perish forever.
| כי לא לנצח ישכח אביון תקות ענוים (עניים) תאבד לעד |
19 Arise, O Jehovah, let not man prevail. Let the nations be judged in thy sight.
| קומה יהוה אל-יעז אנוש ישפטו גוים על-פניך |
20 Put them in fear, O Jehovah. Let the nations know themselves to be but men. (Selah)
| שיתה יהוה מורה--להם ידעו גוים--אנוש המה סלה |
