Psalms 89
1 I will sing of the loving kindness of Jehovah forever. With my mouth I will make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
En Maskil af Ezraiten Etan. Om HERRENS Naade vil jeg evigt synge, fra Slægt til Slægt med min Mund forkynde din Trofasthed.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up forever. Thy faithfulness thou will establish in the very heavens.
Thi du har sagt: »En evig Bygning er Naaden!« I Himlen har du grundfæstet din Trofasthed.
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen. I have sworn to David my servant:
Jeg slutted en Pagt med min udvalgte, tilsvor David, min Tjener:
4 Thy seed I will establish forever, and build up thy throne to all generations. (Selah)
»Jeg lader din Sæd bestaa for evigt, jeg bygger din Trone fra Slægt til Slægt!« (Sela)
5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Jehovah, thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the sanctified.
Og Himlen priser dit Under, HERRE, din Trofasthed i de Helliges Forsamling.
6 For who in the clouds can be compared to Jehovah? Who among the sons of the mighty is like Jehovah,
Thi hvem i Sky er HERRENS Lige, hvo er som HERREN iblandt Guds Sønner?
7 a God very awesome in the council of the holy ones, and to be feared above all those who are round about him?
En forfærdelig Gud i de Helliges Kreds, stor og frygtelig over alle omkring ham.
8 O Jehovah God of hosts, who is a mighty one like thee, O Jehovah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.
HERRE, Hærskarers Gud, hvo er som du? HERRE, din Naade og Trofasthed omgiver dig.
9 Thou rule the pride of the sea. When the waves of it arise, thou still them.
Du mestrer Havets Overmod; naar Bølgerne bruser, stiller du dem.
10 Thou have broken Rahab in pieces, as a wounded man. Thou have scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.
Du knuste Rahab som en fældet Kriger, splitted dine Fjender med vældig Arm.
11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine, the world and the fullness of it; thou have founded them.
Din er Himlen, og din er Jorden, du grunded Jorderig med dets Fylde.
12 The north and the south, thou have created them. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in thy name.
Norden og Sønden skabte du, Tabor og Hermon jubler over dit Navn.
13 Thou have a mighty arm. Strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
Du har en Arm med Vælde, din Haand er stærk, din højre løftet.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne. Loving kindness and truth go before thy face.
Retfærd og Ret er din Trones Grundvold, Naade og Sandhed staar for dit Aasyn.
15 Blessed is the people who know the joyful sound. They walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.
Saligt det Folk, der kender til Frydesang, vandrer, HERRE, i dit Aasyns Lys!
16 In thy name do they rejoice all the day, and in thy righteousness are they exalted.
De lovsynger Dagen igennem dit Navn, ophøjes ved din Retfærdighed.
17 For thou are the glory of their strength, and in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.
Thi du er vor Styrkes Stolthed, du løfter vort Horn ved din Yndest;
18 For our shield belongs to Jehovah, and our king to the Holy One of Israel.
thi vort Skjold er hos HERREN, vor Konge er Israels Hellige!
19 Then thou spoke in a vision to thy sanctified, and said, I have laid help upon a mighty man. I have exalted a chosen man out of the people.
Du taled engang i et Syn til dine fromme: »Krone satte jeg paa en Helt, ophøjed en Yngling af Folket;
20 I have found David my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him,
jeg har fundet David, min Tjener, salvet ham med min hellige Olie;
21 with whom my hand shall be established. My arm also shall strengthen him.
thi min Haand skal holde ham fast, og min Arm skal give ham Styrke.
22 The enemy shall not exact from him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
Ingen Fjende skal overvælde ham, ingen Nidding trykke ham ned;
23 And I will beat down his adversaries before him, and smite those who hate him,
jeg knuser hans Fjender foran ham og nedstøder dem, der hader ham;
24 but my faithfulness and my loving kindness shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
med ham skal min Trofasthed og Miskundhed være, hans Horn skal løfte sig ved mit Navn;
25 I will also set his hand on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
jeg lægger Havet under hans Haand og Strømmene under hans højre;
26 He shall cry to me, Thou are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
mig skal han kalde: min Fader, min Gud og min Frelses Klippe.
27 I also will make him firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.
Jeg gør ham til førstefødt, den største blandt Jordens Konger;
28 I will keep my loving kindness for him for evermore. And my covenant shall stand fast with him.
jeg bevarer for evigt min Miskundhed mod ham, min Pagt skal holdes ham troligt;
29 I will also make his seed to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
jeg lader hans Æt bestaa for evigt, hans Trone, saa længe Himlen er til.
30 If his sons forsake my law, and walk not in my ordinances,
Hvis hans Sønner svigter min Lov og ikke følger mine Lovbud,
31 if they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments,
hvis de bryder min Vedtægt og ikke holder mit Bud,
32 then I will visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes,
da hjemsøger jeg deres Synd med Ris, deres Brøde med haarde Slag;
33 but my loving kindness I will not utterly take from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail.
men min Naade tager jeg ikke fra ham, min Trofasthed svigter jeg ikke;
34 I will not break my covenant, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
jeg bryder ikke min Pagt og ændrer ej mine Læbers Udsagn.
35 I have sworn once by my holiness; I will not lie to David.
Ved min Hellighed svor jeg een Gang for alle — David sviger jeg ikke:
36 His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me.
Hans Æt skal blive for evigt, hans Trone for mig som Solen,
37 It shall be established forever as the moon, and as the faithful witness in the sky. (Selah)
staa fast som Maanen for evigt, og Vidnet paa Himlen er sanddru.« (Sela)
38 But thou have cast off and rejected. Thou have been angry with thine anointed.
Men du har forstødt og forkastet din Salvede og handlet i Vrede imod ham;
39 Thou have abhorred the covenant of thy servant. Thou have profaned his crown to the ground.
Pagten med din Tjener har du brudt, vanæret hans Krone og traadt den i Støvet;
40 Thou have broken down all his hedges. Thou have brought his strongholds to ruin.
du har nedbrudt alle hans Mure, i Grus har du lagt hans Fæstninger;
41 All who pass by the way rob him. He has become a reproach to his neighbors.
alle vejfarende plyndrer ham, sine Naboer blev han til Spot.
42 Thou have exalted the right hand of his adversaries. Thou have made all his enemies to rejoice.
Du har løftet hans Uvenners højre og glædet alle hans Fjender;
43 Yea, thou turn back the edge of his sword, and have not made him to stand in the battle.
hans Sværd lod du vige for Fjenden, du holdt ham ej oppe i Kampen;
44 Thou have made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
du vristed ham Staven af Hænde og styrted hans Trone til Jorden,
45 The days of his youth thou have shortened. Thou have covered him with shame. (Selah)
afkorted hans Ungdoms Dage og hylled ham ind i Skam. (Sela)
46 How long, O Jehovah? Will thou hide thyself forever? Shall thy wrath burn like fire?
Hvor længe vil du skjule dig, HERRE, for evigt, hvor længe skal din Vrede lue som Ild?
47 O remember how short my time is, for what vanity thou have created all the sons of men!
Herre, kom i Hu, hvad Livet er, til hvilken Tomhed du skabte hvert Menneskebarn!
48 What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Hvo bliver i Live og skuer ej Død, hvo frelser sin Sjæl fra Dødsrigets Haand? (Sela) (Sheol h7585)
49 Lord, where are thy former loving kindnesses, which thou swore to David in thy faithfulness?
Hvor er din fordums Naade, Herre, som du i Trofasthed tilsvor David?
50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants, how I bear in my bosom all the mighty peoples,
Kom, Herre, din Tjeners Skændsel i Hu, at jeg bærer Folkenes Spot i min Favn,
51 with which thine enemies have reproached, O Jehovah, with which they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
hvorledes dine Fjender haaner, HERRE, hvorledes de haaner din Salvedes Fodspor.
52 Blessed be Jehovah for evermore. Truly, and Truly.
Lovet være HERREN i Evighed, Amen, Amen!
