Psalms 85

1 Jehovah, thou have been favorable to thy land. Thou have brought back the captivity of Jacob.

TO THE OVERSEER. A PSALM OF THE SONS OF KORAH. You have accepted, O YHWH, Your land, You have turned [to] the captivity of Jacob.

2 Thou have forgiven the iniquity of thy people. Thou have covered all their sin. (Selah)

You have carried away the iniquity of Your people, You have covered all their sin. (Selah)

3 Thou have taken away all thy wrath. Thou have turned from the fierceness of thine anger.

You have gathered up all Your wrath, You have turned back from the fierceness of Your anger.

4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.

Turn back [to] us, O God of our salvation, And make void Your anger with us.

5 Will thou be angry with us forever? Will thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

Are You angry against us for all time? Do You draw out Your anger To generation and generation?

6 Will thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Do You not turn back? You revive us, And Your people rejoice in You.

7 Show us thy loving kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation.

Show us, O YHWH, your kindness, And You give to us Your salvation.

8 I will hear what God, Jehovah, will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, and to his sanctified. But let them not turn again to folly.

I hear what God, YHWH, speaks, For He speaks peace to His people, And to His saints, and they do not turn back to folly.

9 Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.

Surely His salvation [is] near to those fearing Him, That glory may dwell in our land.

10 Mercy and truth are met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Kindness and truth have met, Righteousness and peace have kissed,

11 Truth springs out of the earth, and righteousness has looked down from heaven.

Truth springs up from the earth, And righteousness looks out from the heavens,

12 Yea, Jehovah will give that which is good, and our land shall yield its increase.

YHWH also gives that which is good, And our land gives its increase.

13 Righteousness shall go before him, and shall make his footsteps a path.

Righteousness goes before Him, And makes a way for His footsteps!
