Psalms 82

1 God stands in the congregation of God. He judges among the gods.

Psaume d’Asaph.

2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and respect the persons of the wicked? (Selah)

Jusques à quand jugerez-vous selon l’iniquité, et ferez-vous acception de la personne des pécheurs?

3 Judge the poor man and the orphan. Do justice to the afflicted and destitute man.

Jugez pour l’indigent et le pupille: faites justice à l’humble et au pauvre.

4 Rescue the poor and needy man. Deliver from the hand of the wicked man.

Délivrez le pauvre, et arrachez l’indigent de la main du pécheur.

5 They know not, nor do they understand. They walk to and fro in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

Ils n’ont pas su, et ils n’ont pas compris; ils marchent dans les ténèbres; tous les fondements de la terre seront ébranlés.

6 I said, Ye are gods, and all of you sons of the Most High.

Moi j’ai dit: Vous êtes des dieux, et fils du Très-Haut, tous.

7 Nevertheless ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the rulers.

Mais vous mourrez comme des hommes; et comme l’un des princes, vous tomberez.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth, for thou shall inherit all the nations.

Levez-vous, ô Dieu, jugez la terre; parce que vous hériterez parmi toutes les nations.
