Psalms 81
1 Sing aloud to God our strength. Make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob.
Az éneklőmesternek, a gittithre. Aszáfé. Örvendezzetek Istennek, a mi erősségünknek; ujjongjatok a Jákób Istenének!
2 Raise a song, and bring here the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
Dalt zengjetek és dobot pergessetek, gyönyörű hárfát cziterával együtt.
3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast-day.
Fújjatok kürtöt új holdra, holdtöltekor, a mi ünnepünk napján;
4 For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
Mert végzett dolog ez Izráelnél, a Jákób Istenének rendelése.
5 He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony when he went out over the land of Egypt, where I heard a language that I knew not.
Bizonyságul tette ő a József nemzetségében, a mikor kijött Égyiptom földe ellen. Nyelvet hallék ott, a mit nem tudtam.
6 I removed his shoulder from the burden. His hands were freed from the basket.
Megszabadítottam a tehertől az ő vállát, kezei megmenekültek a kosártól.
7 Thou called in trouble, and I delivered thee. I answered thee in the secret place of thunder. I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. (Selah)
A nyomorúságban segítségül hívtál és én megszabadítottalak téged; meghallgattalak téged a mennydörgésnek rejtekében; megpróbáltalak téged a versengések vizénél. (Szela)
8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee, O Israel, if thou would hearken to me!
Hallgass én népem, hadd tegyek bizonyságot ellened! Oh Izráel, ha te meghallgatnál engem!
9 There shall no strange god be in thee, nor shall thou worship any foreign god.
Ne legyen te nálad idegen isten, és az idegen isten előtt meg ne hajolj!
10 I am Jehovah thy God who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Én, az Úr vagyok a te Istened, a ki kihoztalak téged Égyiptom földéről: nyisd szét a te szájad és betöltöm azt.
11 But my people hearkened not to my voice, and Israel would none of me.
De nem hallgatott népem az én szómra, és Izráel nem engedelmeskedett nékem.
12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, that they might walk in their own counsels.
Ott hagytam azért őt szívöknek keménységében, hogy járjanak a magok tanácsa szerint.
13 O that my people would hearken to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!
Oh, ha az én népem hallgatna reám, s Izráel az én utaimon járna!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.
Legott megaláznám ellenségeit, s szorongatói ellen fordítanám kezem.
15 (The haters of Jehovah feign obedience to him, but their time is forever.)
Az Úrnak gyűlölői hízelegnének néki, és örökkévaló volna az ő idejök.
16 He would feed them also with the finest of the wheat. And I would satisfy thee with honey out of the rock.
És ő megelégítené őt java búzával, és sziklából folyó mézzel töltenélek be téged!
