Psalms 8

1 O Jehovah, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth, who has set thy glory upon the heavens!

Salmo de Davi para o regente, com “Gitite”: Ah DEUS, nosso Senhor, quão glorioso é o teu nome sobre toda a terra! Pois tu puseste tua majestade acima dos céus.

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou have perfected praise, because of thine adversaries, that thou might still the enemy and the avenger.

Da boca das crianças, e dos que mamam, tu fundaste força, por causa de teus adversários, para fazer cessar ao inimigo e ao vingador.

3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou have ordained,

Quando eu vejo teus céus, obra de teus dedos; a lua e as estrelas, que tu preparaste;

4 what is man that thou remember him? And the son of man that thou succor him?

O que é o homem, para que tu te lembres dele? E [o que é] o filho do homem, para que o visites?

5 For thou have made him but little lower than agents, and crowned him with glory and honor.

E tu o fizeste um pouco menor que os anjos; e com glória e honra tu o coroaste.

6 Thou make him to have dominion over the works of thy hands. Thou have put all things under his feet.

Tu o fazes ter controle sobre as obras de tuas mãos; tudo puseste debaixo de seus pés.

7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field,

Ovelhas e bois, todos eles, e também os animais do campo;

8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

As aves dos céus, e os peixes do mar; [e] os que passam pelos caminhos dos mares.

9 O Jehovah, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Ó DEUS, nosso Senhor! Quão glorioso é o teu nome sobre toda a terra!
