Psalms 57
1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in thee. Yea, in the shadow of thy wings I will take refuge until calamities be passed by.
Mai marelui muzician, „Altaschit,” Mictam al lui David, când a fugit de Saul în peșteră. Fii milostiv cu mine, Dumnezeule, fii milostiv cu mine, căci sufletul meu se încrede în tine, da, la umbra aripilor tale îmi voi face locul de scăpare, până când vor trece aceste nenorociri.
2 I will cry to God Most High, to God who performs for me.
Voi striga către Dumnezeul cel preaînalt, către Dumnezeul care îmi împlinește toate.
3 He will send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him who would swallow me up. (Selah) God will send forth his loving kindness and his truth.
Va trimite din cer și mă va salva din ocara celui ce m-ar înghiți. (Selah) Dumnezeu va trimite înainte mila sa și adevărul său.
4 My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
Sufletul meu este printre lei și mă culc printre cei în flăcări, fiii oamenilor, a căror dinți sunt sulițe și săgeți, și limba lor este o sabie ascuțită.
5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, thy glory above all the earth.
Fii înălțat, Dumnezeule, deasupra cerurilor; fie gloria ta deasupra întregului pământ.
6 They have prepared a net for my steps. My soul is bowed down. They have dug a pit before me. They are fallen into the midst of it themselves. (Selah)
Ei au pregătit o plasă pentru pașii mei; sufletul mi s-a încovoiat, au săpat o groapă înaintea mea, în mijlocul căreia au căzut ei înșiși. (Selah)
7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed. I will sing, yea, I will sing praises.
Inima mea este hotărâtă, Dumnezeule, inima mea este hotărâtă, voi cânta și voi lăuda.
8 Awake up, my glory. Awake, psaltery and harp. I myself will awake right early.
Trezește-te gloria mea; trezește-te psalterion și harpă, mă voi trezi devreme.
9 I will give thanks to thee, O Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to thee among the nations.
Te voi lăuda, Doamne, printre popoare, îți voi cânta printre națiuni.
10 For thy loving kindness is great to the heavens, and thy truth to the skies.
Căci mila ta este mare până la ceruri și adevărul tău până la nori.
11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, thy glory above all the earth.
Fii înălțat, Dumnezeule, deasupra cerurilor, fie gloria ta deasupra întregului pământ.
