Psalms 53

1 The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity. There is none who does good.

Disse o nescio no seu coração: Não ha Deus. Teem-se corrompido, e commettido abominavel iniquidade: não ha ninguem que faça o bem.

2 God looked down from heaven upon the sons of men, to see if there were any who understood, who seek after God.

Deus olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.

3 Every one of them has gone back. They have together become filthy. There is none who does good, no, not one.

Desviaram-se todos, e juntamente se fizeram immundos; não ha quem faça o bem, não, nem sequer um

4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon God?

Acaso não teem conhecimento os que obram a iniquidade, os quaes comem o meu povo como se comessem pão? elles não invocaram a Deus.

5 There they were in great fear, where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against thee. Thou have put them to shame because God has rejected them.

Ali se acharam em grande temor, onde não havia temor, pois Deus espalhou os ossos d'aquelle que te cercava; tu os confundiste, porque Deus os rejeitou.

6 O that the salvation of Israel came out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of his people, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Oh! se já de Sião viera a salvação de Israel! Quando Deus fizer voltar os captivos do seu povo, então se regozijará Jacob e se alegrará Israel
