Psalms 5
1 Give ear to my words, O Jehovah, Consider my (meditation)
Auf den Siegesspender, für den Chor, ein Lied, von David. Hör meine Worte, Herr! Merk auf mein Seufzen!
2 Hearken to the voice of my cry, my King, and my God, for to thee do I pray.
Auf meinen Angstschrei horche, mein König und mein Gott! Ich bete ja zu Dir. -
3 O Jehovah, in the morning thou shall hear my voice. In the morning I will direct to thee, and will keep watch.
In aller Frühe, Herr, erhöre meinen Ruf! Dein harre ich in aller Frühe und spähe aus.
4 For thou are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil shall not sojourn with thee.
Du bist ja nicht ein Gott, dem Übermut gefällt; nicht hat das Böse Reiz für Dich.
5 The arrogant shall not stand in thy sight. Thou hate all workers of iniquity.
Vor Deine Augen dürfen Dir nicht Spötter kommen; Du hassest alle Übeltäter.
6 Thou will destroy those who speak lies. Jehovah abhors the blood-thirsty and deceitful man.
Und Du vertilgst die Lügenredner. - Dem Herrn ein Abscheu sind des Blutes und des Truges Männer.
7 But as for me, in the abundance of thy loving kindness I will come into thy house. In thy fear I will worship toward thy holy temple.
Durch Deine große Güte läßt Du mich Dein Haus betreten; zu Deinem heiligen Palast gewandt, sink ich in Ehrfurcht betend vor Dir nieder. -
8 Lead me, O Jehovah, in thy righteousness because of my enemies. Make thy way straight before my face.
Führ mich zu der Gerechtigkeit, die Dir gefällt! Um meiner Feinde willen, Herr, ebne mir Deinen Weg! -
9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their inward part is very wickedness. Their throat is an open sepulcher. With their tongue they deceive.
In keinem Mund von Wahrheit eine Spur! In ihrem Herzensgrund ist Unheil und ihre Kehle eine offene Grube! Mit ihrer Zunge heucheln sie.
10 Hold them guilty, O God. Let them fall by their own counsels. Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions. For they have rebelled against thee.
Gott! Strafe sie! Durch ihre eigenen Pläne laß sie niedersinken! Zu Fall bring sie durch ihrer Frevel Menge! Sie trotzen Dir.
11 But let all those who take refuge in thee rejoice. Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defend them. Let those also who love thy name be joyful in thee.
Dann freu'n sich alle, die zu Dir sich flüchten, frohlocken ewiglich, daß Du sie schirmst. Dann jubeln über Dich, die Deinen Namen lieben.
12 For thou will bless the righteous man, O Jehovah. Thou will encompass him with favor as with a shield. (Selah)
Du selbst, Herr, segnest ja den Frommen, und wie mit einem Schild umgibst Du ihn mit Huld.
