< Psalms 49 >
1 Hear this, all ye peoples. Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world,
Kuom jatend wer. Zaburi mar yawuot Kora. Winjuru wachni, un ji duto: chikuru itu, un duto mudak e pinyni,
2 both low and high, rich and poor together.
un joma odhier kod joma idew, jo-mwandu gi jodhier machalre:
3 My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
Dhoga biro wacho weche mag rieko, weche moa e chunya biro miyo ji winjo tiend weche.
4 I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
Abiro chiko ita ne ngero moro; abiro nyiso tiend midhiero mara ka agoyo nyatitina:
5 Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels encompasses me about?
En ngʼa monego aluor ka ndalo mag richo obiro, ka jo-miriambo ma timbegi richo olwora.
6 Those who trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches,
Joma oketo genogi kuom mwandu kendo masungore kuom mwandugi mathoth?
7 none can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him
Onge ngʼama nyalo waro ngima nyawadgi kata manyalo chulo Nyasaye nengo moromo ware.
8 (for the redemption of their life is costly, and it fails forever),
Nikech yor waro dhano tek ahinya, maonge nengo madichul marom,
9 that he should still live always, that he should not see corruption.
ma dimi odag nyaka chiengʼ kendo kik odhi e liel.
10 For he shall see it. Wise men die. The fool and the brutish alike perish, and leave their wealth to others.
Nikech ongʼere ne ji duto ni joma riek tho, mana kaka joma ofuwo gi joma omingʼ, bende tho mi giwe mwandu ne joma moko.
11 Their inward thought is that their houses are forever, their dwelling-places to all generations. They call their lands after their own names.
Lietegi ema biro siko kaka utegi nyaka chiengʼ kendo ema gibiro dakie higni gi higni ma ok rum, kata obedo ni negimako lope mathoth koni gi koni.
12 Even a man in splendor does not abide. He is like the beasts that perish.
To ongʼere ni dhano ok siki e piny, kata obed gi mwandu mathoth machal nade, to otho mana kaka le bende tho.
13 This their way is their folly. Yet after them men approve their sayings. (Selah)
Mano e gima biro timore ne joma ogenore kendgi giwegi, kendo ne joma luwogi, moluwo wechegi. (Sela)
14 They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd, and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. And their beauty shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for it. (Sheol )
Gichomo liete mokuny nigi mana kaka rombe kendo tho biro lokogi chiembe. Joma ngimagi oriere tir biro loyogi ka piny oru, to dendgi biro towo e liete, ka gin mabor gi utegi madongo machalo ute ruodhi. (Sheol )
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. (Selah) (Sheol )
Anto Nyasaye biro reso chunya mi ogola e liel adier, obiro kawa mi odhi koda ire. (Sela) (Sheol )
16 Be not thou afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased.
Kik chunyi thagre ka ngʼato mwandune medore, kata ka duongʼ mar ode medore;
17 For when he dies he shall carry nothing away. His glory shall not descend after him.
nikech onge gima obiro kawo odhigo ka otho, duongʼ ma en-go ok bi dhi kode e liel,
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul (and men praise thee, when thou do well for thyself),
kata obedo ni ne okawore kaka ngʼama ogwedhi kane pod ongima nikech ji nyaka paki ka mwanduni medore,
19 he shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall never see the light.
to obiro dhi mi oriwre gi tiengʼ machon mar kwerene, ma ok nyal neno ler mar wangʼ chiengʼ kendo.
20 A man who is in splendor, and understands not, is like the beasts that perish.
Ngʼat man-gi mwandu mathoth to onge winjo, chalo gi le ma otho.
