< Psalms 37 >
1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, nor be thou envious against those who work unrighteousness.
Ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ʻOua naʻa ke fakamamahiʻi koe koeʻuhi ko e kau fai kovi, pea ʻoua naʻa ke meheka ki he kau ngāue ʻi he angahala.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Koeʻuhi ʻe vave ʻae tuʻusi hifo ʻakinautolu ʻo hangē ko e mohuku, pea mae ʻo hangē ko e ʻakau mata.
3 Trust in Jehovah, and do good. Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.
Falala kia Sihova, pea ke fai lelei; ko ia te ke nofo ai ʻi he fonua, pea ko e moʻoni ʻe fafangaʻi koe.
4 Delight thyself also in Jehovah, and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.
Fakafiemālieʻi foki koe ʻia Sihova; pea te ne foaki kiate koe ʻae ngaahi holi ʻo ho loto.
5 Commit thy way to Jehovah. Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.
Tuku ho hala kia Sihova; pea falala foki kiate ia; pea te ne fakahoko ia.
6 And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, and thy justice as the noon-day.
Pea te ne fakahā atu hoʻo māʻoniʻoni ʻo hangē ko e maama, mo hoʻo fakamaau ʻo hangē ko e hoʻatā ʻoe ʻaho.
7 Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him. Fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
Ke ke fakalongo pē kia Sihova, pea tatali faʻa kātaki pe kiate ia: ʻoua naʻa ke fakamamahiʻi koe koeʻuhi ko ia ʻoku monūʻia ʻi hono hala, koeʻuhi ko e tangata ʻoku fakahoko ʻae ngaahi filioʻi kovi.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Fret not thyself, it tends only to evil-doing.
Tukuange ʻae ʻita, pea liʻaki ʻae lili: ʻoua naʻa ke fakamamahiʻi foki koe ʻi ha meʻa ke fai kovi.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the land.
Koeʻuhi ʻe motuhi ʻae ngaahi fai kovi: ka ko kinautolu ʻoku tatali kia Sihova, te nau maʻu ʻae fonua.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked man shall not be. Yea, thou shall diligently consider his place, and he shall not be.
He ʻoku toetoe siʻi pē, pea ʻe ʻikai ʻae angakovi: ʻio, te ke tokanga lahi ki hono potu, ka ʻe ʻikai ʻiloʻi ia.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Ka ko e angamalū tenau maʻu ʻae fonua; ʻonau fakafiemālieʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi hono lahi ʻoe melino.
12 The wicked man plots against the righteous man, and gnashes upon him with his teeth.
ʻOku fakakaukau kovi ʻe he angahala ki he angatonu, mo ngaiʻi kiate ia ʻaki hono nifo.
13 The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
ʻE kata ʻa Sihova kiate ia: he ʻoku ne ʻafioʻi ʻoku haʻu hono ʻaho.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill such as are upright in the way.
Kuo unuhi ʻe he kau angakovi ʻae heletā, pea kuo nau teke ʻenau kaufana, ke lī ki lalo ʻae mamahi mo e paea, pea ke tāmateʻi ʻakinautolu ʻoku angatotonu.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
ʻE ʻasi ʻenau heletā ki honau loto ʻonautolu, pea ʻe mafesi ʻenau ngaahi kaufana.
16 Better is a little that the righteous man has than the abundance of many wicked men.
ʻOku lelei lahi hake ʻae meʻa siʻi ʻoku ʻi he tangata māʻoniʻoni ʻi he koloa ʻoe tokolahi ʻoku angahala.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Jehovah upholds the righteous.
Koeʻuhi ʻe fesiʻi ʻae nima ʻoe kau angahala: ka ʻoku poupou ʻe Sihova ʻae māʻoniʻoni.
18 Jehovah knows the days of the perfect, and their inheritance shall be forever.
ʻOku ʻiloʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae ngaahi ʻaho ʻoe kakai angatonu: pea ko honau tofiʻa ʻe tolonga taʻengata.
19 They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
ʻE ʻikai te nau mā ʻi he kuonga kovi, pea ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻoe honge tenau mākona.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of Jehovah is as the fat of lambs: they shall disintegrate; they shall disintegrate away into smoke.
Ka ʻe ʻauha ʻae angakovi, pea ʻe tatau ʻae ngaahi fili ʻo Sihova mo e ngako ʻoe fanga lami: ʻe ʻauha ʻakinautolu; ʻi he kohu tenau mole ʻo ʻosi.
21 The wicked man borrows, and pays not again, but the righteous man deals graciously, and gives.
ʻOku nō ʻae angakovi, pea ʻikai toe totongi: ka ʻoku fakahā ʻae ʻofa ʻe he māʻoniʻoni, ʻo foaki.
22 For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land, and those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
He ko kinautolu kuo tāpuekina ʻiate ia tenau maʻu ʻae fonua; pea ko kinautolu kuo malaʻia ʻiate ia ʻe motuhi.
23 A man's goings are established by Jehovah, and he delights in his way.
ʻOku fakahinohino ʻe Sihova ʻae ngaahi laka ʻae tangata lelei: pea ʻoku fiemālie ia ʻi hono hala.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for Jehovah upholds him with his hand.
Neongo ʻene tō ki lalo, ʻe ʻikai ʻauha ia: he ʻoku poupou hake ia ʻe he nima ʻo Sihova.
25 I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen a righteous man forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Naʻaku talavou, pea kuo u motuʻa; ka ʻoku teʻeki te u ʻilo ʻae māʻoniʻoni kuo liʻaki, pe ko hono hako ʻoku kole mā.
26 All the day long he deals graciously, and lends, and his seed is blessed.
ʻOku angaʻofa maʻuaipē ia, pea faʻa ʻatu; pea ʻoku monūʻia hono hako.
27 Depart from evil, and do good, and dwell for evermore.
Afe mei he kovi, pea ke fai lelei, pea nofomaʻu pē ʻo taʻengata.
28 For Jehovah loves justice, and forsakes not his sanctified. They are preserved forever, but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
He ʻoku ʻofa ʻa Sihova ki he fakamaau, pea ʻoku ʻikai te ne liʻaki hono kakai māʻoniʻoni; kuo fakamoʻui maʻuaipē ʻakinautolu: ka ʻe motuhi ʻae hako ʻoe angakovi.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell in it forever.
ʻE maʻu ʻe he māʻoniʻoni ʻa e fonua, pea tenau nofo ai ʻo taʻengata.
30 The mouth of a righteous man talks of wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
Ko e ngutu ʻoe māʻoniʻoni ʻoku ne lea ʻaki ʻae poto, pea talanoa ʻaki hono ʻelelo ʻae fakamaau.
31 The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.
ʻOku ʻi hono loto ʻae fono ʻa hono ʻOtua; ʻe ʻikai hekea ia ʻi haʻane laka ʻe taha.
32 A wicked man watches a righteous man, and seeks to kill him.
ʻOku lamasi ʻe he angakovi ʻae māʻoniʻoni, ʻo kumi ke fakapoongi ia.
33 Jehovah will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
ʻE ʻikai tukuange ia ʻe Sihova ʻi hono nima, pe tukuakiʻi ia ʻi hono fakamaauʻi.
34 Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land. When sinners are cut off, thou shall see it.
Tatali kia Sihova, pea tauhi hono hala, pea te ne hakeakiʻi koe ke maʻu ʻae fonua: pea ka ʻosi hono motuhi ʻae kakai angakovi, te ke mamata ki ai.
35 I have seen a wicked man in great power, and spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.
Naʻaku mamata ki he angakovi kuo mālohi lahi, pea mafola ia ʻo hangē ko e ʻakau maʻuiʻui ʻoku tupu ʻi hono potu ʻoʻona.
36 But I passed by, and, lo, he was not. Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
Ka naʻe mole atu ia, pea vakai, kuo ʻikai ia: ʻio, ne u kumi ia, ka naʻe ʻikai faʻa ʻiloʻi ia.
37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for there is a happy end to the man of peace.
Vakai ki he tangata haohaoa, mo tokanga ki he angatonu: he ko e ngataʻanga ʻoe tangata ko ia ko e melino.
38 As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The end of the wicked shall be cut off.
Ka ʻe fakaʻauha fakataha ʻae kau angahala: ko e ikuʻanga ʻoe angakovi ʻe motuhi ia.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is of Jehovah. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble,
Ka ko hono fakamoʻui ʻoe māʻoniʻoni ʻoku ʻia Sihova: ko honau mālohi ia ʻi he kuonga ʻoe mamahi.
40 and Jehovah helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from sinners, and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.
Pea ʻe tokoni ʻakinautolu ʻe Sihova, mo fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu: te ne fakahaofi ʻakinautolu mei he kakai angakovi, mo fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau falala kiate ia.
