Psalms 37
1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, nor be thou envious against those who work unrighteousness.
Ein Psalm Davids. Erzürne dich nicht über die Bösen; sei nicht neidisch über die Übeltäter!
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Denn wie das Gras werden sie bald abgehauen und wie das grüne Kraut werden sie verwelken.
3 Trust in Jehovah, and do good. Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.
Hoffe auf den HERRN und tue Gutes; bleibe im Lande und nähre dich redlich.
4 Delight thyself also in Jehovah, and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.
Habe deine Lust am HERRN; der wird dir geben, was dein Herz wünschet.
5 Commit thy way to Jehovah. Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.
Befiehl dem HERRN deine Wege und hoffe auf ihn; er wird's wohl machen
6 And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, and thy justice as the noon-day.
und wird deine Gerechtigkeit hervor bringen wie das Licht und dein Recht wie den Mittag.
7 Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him. Fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
Sei stille dem HERRN und warte auf ihn! Erzürne dich nicht über den, dem sein Mutwille glücklich fortgehet.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Fret not thyself, it tends only to evil-doing.
Stehe ab vom Zorn und laß den Grimm; erzürne dich nicht, daß du auch übel tust.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the land.
Denn die Bösen werden ausgerottet; die aber des HERRN harren, werden das Land erben.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked man shall not be. Yea, thou shall diligently consider his place, and he shall not be.
Es ist noch um ein kleines, so ist der Gottlose nimmer; und wenn du nach seiner Stätte sehen wirst, wird er weg sein.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Aber die Elenden werden das Land erben und Lust haben in großem Frieden.
12 The wicked man plots against the righteous man, and gnashes upon him with his teeth.
Der Gottlose dräuet dem Gerechten und beißet seine Zähne zusammen über ihn.
13 The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
Aber der HERR lachet sein; denn er siehet, daß sein Tag kommt.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill such as are upright in the way.
Die Gottlosen ziehen das Schwert aus und spannen ihren Bogen, daß sie fällen den Elenden und Armen und schlachten die Frommen.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
Aber ihr Schwert wird in ihr Herz gehen, und ihr Bogen wird zerbrechen.
16 Better is a little that the righteous man has than the abundance of many wicked men.
Das Wenige, das ein Gerechter hat, ist besser denn das große Gut vieler Gottlosen.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Jehovah upholds the righteous.
Denn der Gottlosen Arm wird zerbrechen; aber der HERR erhält die Gerechten.
18 Jehovah knows the days of the perfect, and their inheritance shall be forever.
Der HERR kennet die Tage der Frommen, und ihr Gut wird ewiglich bleiben.
19 They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Sie werden nicht zuschanden in der bösen Zeit, und in der Teurung werden sie genug haben.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of Jehovah is as the fat of lambs: they shall disintegrate; they shall disintegrate away into smoke.
Denn die Gottlosen werden umkommen, und die Feinde des HERRN, wenn sie gleich sind wie eine köstliche Aue, werden sie doch vergehen, wie der Rauch vergehet.
21 The wicked man borrows, and pays not again, but the righteous man deals graciously, and gives.
Der Gottlose borget und bezahlet nicht; der Gerechte aber ist barmherzig und milde.
22 For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land, and those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
Denn seine Gesegneten erben das Land; aber seine Verfluchten werden ausgerottet.
23 A man's goings are established by Jehovah, and he delights in his way.
Von dem HERRN wird solches Mannes Gang gefördert und hat Lust an seinem Wege.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for Jehovah upholds him with his hand.
Fällt er, so wird er nicht weggeworfen; denn der HERR erhält ihn bei der Hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen a righteous man forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Ich bin jung gewesen und alt worden und habe noch nie gesehen den Gerechten verlassen oder seinen Samen nach Brot gehen.
26 All the day long he deals graciously, and lends, and his seed is blessed.
Er ist allezeit barmherzig und leihet gerne; und sein Same wird gesegnet sein.
27 Depart from evil, and do good, and dwell for evermore.
Laß vom Bösen und tue Gutes, und bleibe immerdar.
28 For Jehovah loves justice, and forsakes not his sanctified. They are preserved forever, but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
Denn der HERR hat das Recht lieb und verläßt seine Heiligen nicht; ewiglich werden sie bewahret; aber der Gottlosen Same wird ausgerottet.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell in it forever.
Die Gerechten erben das Land und bleiben ewiglich drinnen.
30 The mouth of a righteous man talks of wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
Der Mund des Gerechten redet die Weisheit, und seine Zunge lehret das Recht.
31 The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.
Das Gesetz seines Gottes ist, in seinem Herzen, seine Tritte gleiten nicht.
32 A wicked man watches a righteous man, and seeks to kill him.
Der Gottlose lauert auf den Gerechten und gedenkt ihn zu töten.
33 Jehovah will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
Aber der HERR läßt ihn nicht in seinen Händen und verdammt ihn nicht, wenn er verurteilt wird.
34 Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land. When sinners are cut off, thou shall see it.
Harre auf den HERRN und halte seiner Weg, so wird er dich erhöhen, daß du das Land erbest; du wirst's sehen, daß die Gottlosen ausgerottet werden.
35 I have seen a wicked man in great power, and spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.
Ich habe gesehen einen Gottlosen, der war trotzig und breitete sich aus und grünete wie ein Lorbeerbaum.
36 But I passed by, and, lo, he was not. Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
Da man vorüberging, siehe, da war er dahin; ich fragte nach ihm, da ward er nirgend funden.
37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for there is a happy end to the man of peace.
Bleibe fromm und halte dich recht, denn solchem wird's zuletzt wohlgehen.
38 As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The end of the wicked shall be cut off.
Die Übertreter aber werden vertilget miteinander, und die Gottlosen werden zuletzt ausgerottet.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is of Jehovah. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble,
Aber der HERR hilft den Gerechten; der ist ihre Stärke in der Not.
40 and Jehovah helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from sinners, and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.
Und der HERR wird ihnen beistehen und wird sie erretten; er wird sie von den Gottlosen erretten und ihnen helfen; denn sie trauen auf ihn.
