Psalms 31
1 In thee, O Jehovah, do I take refuge. Let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in thy righteousness.
Kwa mwimbishaji. Zaburi ya Daudi. Ee Bwana, nimekukimbilia wewe, usiache nikaaibika kamwe, kwa haki yako uniokoe.
2 Bow down thine ear to me. Deliver me speedily. Be thou to me a strong rock, a house of defense to save me.
Nitegee sikio lako, uje uniokoe haraka; uwe kwangu mwamba wa kimbilio, ngome imara ya kuniokoa.
3 For thou are my rock and my fortress. Therefore for thy name's sake lead me and guide me.
Kwa kuwa wewe ni mwamba wangu na ngome yangu, uniongoze na kunilinda kwa ajili ya jina lako.
4 Pluck me out of the net that they have laid secretly for me, for thou are my stronghold.
Uniepushe na mtego niliotegewa, maana wewe ndiwe kimbilio langu.
5 Into thy hand I commend my spirit. Thou have redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.
Ninaikabidhi roho yangu mikononi mwako, unikomboe Ee Bwana, uliye Mungu wa kweli.
6 I hate those who regard lying vanities, but I trust in Jehovah.
Ninawachukia wale wanaongʼangʼania sanamu batili; mimi ninamtumaini Bwana.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy loving kindness, for thou have seen my affliction. Thou have known my soul in adversities,
Nitafurahia na kushangilia upendo wako, kwa kuwa uliona mateso yangu na ulijua maumivu ya nafsi yangu.
8 and thou have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy. Thou have set my feet in a large place.
Hukunikabidhi kwa adui yangu bali umeiweka miguu yangu mahali penye nafasi.
9 Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah, for I am in distress. My eye wastes away with grief, yea, my soul and my body.
Ee Bwana unihurumie, kwa kuwa niko kwenye shida; macho yangu yanafifia kwa huzuni, nafsi yangu na mwili wangu kwa sikitiko.
10 For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing. My strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones are wasted away.
Maisha yangu yamedhoofika kwa majonzi, naam, miaka yangu kwa kulia kwa maumivu makali; nguvu zangu zinaisha kwa ajili ya mateso, na mifupa yangu inachakaa.
11 I have become a reproach because of all my adversaries, yea, to my neighbors exceedingly, and a fear to my acquaintances. Those who saw me outside fled from me.
Kwa sababu ya adui zangu wote, nimedharauliwa kabisa na jirani zangu, hata kwa rafiki zangu nimekuwa tisho, wale wanionao barabarani hunikimbia.
12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind. I am like a broken vessel.
Nimesahaulika miongoni mwao kama mtu aliyekufa, nimekuwa kama chombo cha mfinyanzi kilichovunjika.
13 For I have heard the slander of many. Fear was on every side, while they took counsel together against me. They devised to take away my life.
Kwa maana nimesikia maneno niliyosingiziwa na wengi; vitisho viko pande zote; kwa kuwa wamefanya mashauri dhidi yangu, na kula njama kuniua.
14 But I trusted in thee, O Jehovah. I said, Thou are my God.
Lakini mimi ninakutumaini wewe peke yako, Ee Bwana; nimesema, “Wewe ndiwe Mungu wangu.”
15 My times are in thy hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.
Siku za maisha yangu ziko mikononi mwako, uniokoe mikononi mwa adui zangu na wale wanifuatiao.
16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant. Save me in thy loving kindness.
Mwangazie mtumishi wako uso wako, uniokoe kwa ajili ya upendo wako usiokoma.
17 Let me not be put to shame, O Jehovah, for I have called upon thee. Let the wicked be put to shame. Let them be silent in Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Usiniache niaibike, Ee Bwana, kwa maana nimekulilia wewe, bali waovu waaibishwe na kunyamazishwa Kuzimu. (Sheol h7585)
18 Let the lying lips be dumb, which speak against the righteous man insolently, with pride and contempt.
Midomo yao isemayo uongo na inyamazishwe, kwa maana kwa kiburi na dharau wao husema kwa majivuno dhidi ya wenye haki.
19 O how great is thy goodness, which thou have laid up for those who fear thee, which thou have wrought for those who take refuge in thee before the sons of men!
Tazama jinsi ulivyo mkuu wema wako, uliowawekea akiba wakuchao, ambao huwapa wale wakukimbiliao machoni pa watu.
20 In the covert of thy presence thou will hide them from the plotting of man. Thou will keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Unawahifadhi katika uvuli wa uwepo wako kutokana na hila za wanadamu; katika makao yako huwaweka salama kutokana na ndimi za mashtaka.
21 Blessed be Jehovah, for he has shown me his marvelous loving kindness in a strong city.
Atukuzwe Bwana, kwa kuwa amenionyesha upendo wake wa ajabu nilipokuwa katika mji uliozingirwa.
22 As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes. Nevertheless thou heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to thee.
Katika hofu yangu nilisema, “Nimekatiliwa mbali na macho yako!” Hata hivyo ulisikia kilio changu ukanihurumia nilipokuita unisaidie.
23 O love Jehovah, all ye his sanctified. Jehovah preserves the faithful, and plentifully repays him who deals proudly.
Mpendeni Bwana ninyi watakatifu wake wote! Bwana huwahifadhi waaminifu, lakini wenye kiburi huwalipiza kikamilifu.
24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all ye who hope in Jehovah.
Kuweni hodari na mjipe moyo, ninyi nyote mnaomtumaini Bwana.
