< Psalms 3 >
1 Jehovah, how my adversaries are increased! Many are those who rise up against me.
Psalmus David, cum fugeret a facie Absalom filii sui. Domine, quid multiplicati sunt qui tribulant me? Multi insurgunt adversum me;
2 Many there are who say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. (Selah)
multi dicunt animæ meæ: Non est salus ipsi in Deo ejus.
3 But thou, O Jehovah, are a shield about me, my glory and he who lifts up of my head.
Tu autem Domine, susceptor meus es, gloria mea, et exaltans caput meum.
4 I cry to Jehovah with my voice, and he answers me out of his holy hill. (Selah)
Voce mea ad Dominum clamavi; et exaudivit me de monte sancto suo.
5 I laid down and slept. I awoke, for Jehovah sustains me.
Ego dormivi, et soporatus sum; et exsurrexi, quia Dominus suscepit me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of the people who have set themselves against me round about.
Non timebo millia populi circumdantis me. Exsurge, Domine; salvum me fac, Deus meus.
7 Arise, O Jehovah. Save me, O my God. For thou have smitten all my enemies upon the cheek bone. Thou have broken the teeth of the wicked.
Quoniam tu percussisti omnes adversantes mihi sine causa; dentes peccatorum contrivisti.
8 Salvation belongs to Jehovah. Thy blessing be upon thy people. (Selah)
Domini est salus; et super populum tuum benedictio tua.
