Psalms 21
1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Jehovah. And in thy salvation how greatly he shall rejoice!
Zborovođi. Psalam. Davidov. Jahve, zbog tvoje se moći kralj veseli, zbog pomoći tvoje radosno kliče.
2 Thou have given him his heart's desire, and have not withheld the request of his lips. (Selah)
Ti mu ispuni želju srca, ne odbi molitve usana njegovih.
3 For thou meet him with the blessings of goodness. Thou set a crown of fine gold on his head.
Ti ga predusrete blagoslovima sretnim, na glavu mu krunu stavi od suhoga zlata.
4 He asked life from thee. Thou gave it him, even length of days forever and ever.
Za život te molio, i ti mu dade premnoge dane - za vijeke vjekova.
5 His glory is great in thy salvation. Honor and majesty thou do lay upon him.
Pomoću tvojom slava je njegova velika, uresio si ga veličanstvom i sjajem.
6 For thou make him most blessed forever. Thou make him glad with joy in thy presence.
Ti ga učini blagoslovom za vjekove, veseliš ga radošću lica svojega.
7 For the king trusts in Jehovah. And through the loving kindness of the Most High he shall not be moved.
Doista, kralj se uzda u Jahvu i po dobroti Svevišnjega neće se pokolebati.
8 Thy hand will find out all thine enemies. Thy right hand will find out those who hate thee.
Tvoja ruka nek' pronađe sve dušmane tvoje, desnica tvoja neka stigne one koji te mrze!
9 Thou will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thine anger. Jehovah will swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
Nek' budu kao u peći ognjenoj kad se ukaže lice tvoje! Nek' ih Jahve gnjevom uništi, neka ih proguta oganj!
10 Thou will destroy their fruit from the earth, and their seed from among the sons of men.
Njihovo potomstvo satri sa zemlje i rod im iz sinova ljudskih.
11 For they intended evil against thee. They conceived a device which they are not able to perform.
Ako li stanu zlo kovati protiv tebe, ako spremaju spletke, neće uspjeti.
12 For thou will make them turn their back. Thou will make ready with thy bowstrings against their face.
Ti ćeš ih natjerati u bijeg, svoj luk ćeš usmjeriti na njih.
13 Be thou exalted, O Jehovah, in thy strength. We will sing and praise thy power.
Ustani, Jahve, u sili svojoj! Daj nam da pjesmama slavimo snagu tvoju!
