Psalms 19
1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows his handiwork.
Al maestro de coro. Salmo de David. Los cielos atestiguan la gloria de Dios; y el firmamento predica las obras que Él ha hecho.
2 Day to day utters speech, and night to night shows knowledge.
Cada día transmite al siguiente este mensaje, y una noche lo hace conocer a la otra.
3 There is no speech nor language in which their voice is not heard.
Si bien no es la palabra, tampoco es un lenguaje cuya voz no pueda percibirse.
4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tabernacle for the sun,
Por toda la tierra se oye su sonido, y sus acentos hasta los confines del orbe. Allí le puso tienda al sol,
5 which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
que sale como un esposo de su tálamo, y se lanza alegremente cual gigante a recorrer su carrera.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heavens, and his circuit to the ends of it, and there is nothing hid from the heat of it.
Parte desde un extremo del cielo, y su giro va hasta el otro extremo; nada puede sustraerse a su calor.
7 The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making a simple man wise.
La Ley de Yahvé es perfecta, restaura el alma. El testimonio de Yahvé es fiel, hace sabio al hombre sencillo.
8 The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Los preceptos de Yahvé son rectos, alegran el corazón. La enseñanza de Yahvé es clara, ilumina los ojos.
9 The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever. The ordinances of Jehovah are true, and righteous altogether.
El temor de Yahvé es santo, permanece para siempre. Los juicios de Yahvé son la verdad, todos son la justicia misma,
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold. Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.
más codiciables que el oro, oro abundante y finísimo; más sabrosos que la miel que destila de los panales.
11 Moreover by them thy servant is warned. In keeping them there is great reward.
También tu siervo es iluminado por ellos, y en su observancia halla gran galardón.
12 Who can discern his errors? Clear thou me from hidden faults.
Mas ¿quién es el que conoce sus defectos? Purifícame de los que no advierto.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be upright, and I shall be clear from great transgression.
Preserva a tu siervo, para que nunca domine en mí la soberbia. Entonces seré íntegro, y estaré libre del gran pecado.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Jehovah, my rock, and my redeemer.
Hallen favor ante Ti estas palabras de mi boca y los anhelos de mi corazón, oh Yahvé, Roca mía y Redentor mío.
