Psalms 17
1 Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend to my cry. Give ear to my prayer, that goes not out of feigned lips.
ダビデの祈 主よ、正しい訴えを聞き、わたしの叫びにみ心をとめ、偽りのないくちびるから出るわたしの祈に耳を傾けてください。
2 Let my justice come forth from thy presence. Let thine eyes look upon equity.
どうかわたしについての宣告がみ前から出て、あなたの目が公平をみられるように。
3 Thou have proved my heart. Thou have visited me in the night. Thou have tried me, and find nothing. I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
あなたがわたしの心をためし、夜、わたしに臨み、わたしを試みられても、わたしのうちになんの悪い思いをも見いだされないでしょう。わたしの口も罪を犯しません。
4 As for the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept from the ways of a violent man.
人のおこないの事をいえば、あなたのくちびるの言葉によって、わたしは不法な者の道を避けました。
5 My steps have held fast to thy paths. My feet have not slipped.
わたしの歩みはあなたの道に堅く立ち、わたしの足はすべることがなかったのです。
6 I have called upon thee, for thou will answer me, O God. Incline thine ear to me, and hear my speech.
神よ、わたしはあなたに呼ばわります。あなたはわたしに答えられます。どうか耳を傾けて、わたしの述べることをお聞きください。
7 Show thy marvelous loving kindness, O thou who saves by thy right hand those who take refuge from those who rise up.
寄り頼む者をそのあだから右の手で救われる者よ、あなたのいつくしみを驚くばかりにあらわし、
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye. Hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
ひとみのようにわたしを守り、みつばさの陰にわたしを隠し、
9 from the wicked who oppress me, my deadly enemies, who encompass me around.
わたしをしえたげる悪しき者から、わたしを囲む恐ろしい敵から、のがれさせてください。
10 They are enclosed in their own fat. With their mouth they speak proudly.
彼らはその心を閉じて、あわれむことなく、その口をもって高ぶって語るのです。
11 They have now encompassed us in our steps. They set their eyes to cast down to the earth.
彼らはわたしを追いつめ、わたしを囲み、わたしを地に投げ倒さんと、その目をそそぎます。
12 He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
彼らはかき裂かんと、いらだつししのごとく、隠れた所にひそみ待つ子じしのようです。
13 Arise, O Jehovah, confront him. Cast him down. Deliver my soul from the wicked by thy sword,
主よ、立ちあがって、彼らに立ちむかい、彼らを倒してください。つるぎをもって悪しき者からわたしのいのちをお救いください。
14 from men by thy hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life, and whose belly thou fill with thy treasure. They are satisfied with sons, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
主よ、み手をもって人々からわたしをお救いください。すなわち自分の分け前をこの世で受け、あなたの宝をもってその腹を満たされる世の人々からわたしをお救いください。彼らは多くの子に飽き足り、その富を幼な子に残すのです。
15 As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness. I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy form.
しかしわたしは義にあって、み顔を見、目ざめる時、みかたちを見て、満ち足りるでしょう。
