Psalms 149

1 Praise ye Jehovah. Sing to Jehovah a new song, and his praise in the assembly of the sanctified.

Halleluja! Sjungen till HERRENS ära en ny sång, hans lov i de frommas församling.

2 Let Israel rejoice in him who made him. Let the sons of Zion be joyful in their King.

Israel glädje sig över sin skapare, Sions barn fröjde sig över sin konung.

3 Let them praise his name in the dance. Let them sing praises to him with timbrel and harp.

Må de lova hans namn under dans, till puka och harpa må de lovsjunga honom.

4 For Jehovah takes pleasure in his people. He will beautify the meek with salvation.

Ty HERREN har behag till sitt folk, han smyckar de ödmjuka med frälsning.

5 Let the sanctified exult in glory. Let them sing for joy upon their beds.

De fromma fröjde sig och give honom ära, de juble på sina läger.

6 The high praises of God are in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand

Guds lov skall vara i deras mun och ett tveeggat svärd i deras hand,

7 to execute vengeance upon the nations, and punishments upon the peoples,

för att utkräva hämnd på hedningarna och hemsöka folken med tuktan,

8 to bind their kings with chains, and their ranking men with fetters of iron,

för att binda deras konungar med kedjor och deras ädlingar med järnbojor,

9 to execute upon them the judgment written. All his sanctified have this honor. Praise ye Jehovah.
