Psalms 149

1 Praise ye Jehovah. Sing to Jehovah a new song, and his praise in the assembly of the sanctified.

Halleluja! Syng HERREN en ny Sang, hans Pris i de frommes Forsamling!

2 Let Israel rejoice in him who made him. Let the sons of Zion be joyful in their King.

Israel glæde sig over sin Skaber, over deres Konge fryde sig Zions Børn,

3 Let them praise his name in the dance. Let them sing praises to him with timbrel and harp.

4 For Jehovah takes pleasure in his people. He will beautify the meek with salvation.

thi HERREN har Behag i sit Folk, han smykker de ydmyge med Frelse.

5 Let the sanctified exult in glory. Let them sing for joy upon their beds.

De fromme skal juble med Ære, synge paa deres Lejer med Fryd,

6 The high praises of God are in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand

med Lovsang til Gud i Mund og tveægget Sværd i Haand

7 to execute vengeance upon the nations, and punishments upon the peoples,

for at tage Hævn over Folkene og revse Folkeslagene,

8 to bind their kings with chains, and their ranking men with fetters of iron,

for at binde deres Konger med Lænker, deres ædle med Kæder af Jern

9 to execute upon them the judgment written. All his sanctified have this honor. Praise ye Jehovah.

og fuldbyrde paa dem den alt skrevne Dom til Ære for alle hans fromme! Halleluja!
