Psalms 143
1 Hear my prayer, O Jehovah. Give ear to my supplications. In thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
Psaume de David. Eternel, écoute ma requête, prête l'oreille à mes supplications, suivant ta fidélité; réponds-moi à cause de ta justice.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant. For in thy sight no man living is righteous.
Et n'entre point en jugement avec ton serviteur; car nul homme vivant ne sera justifié devant toi.
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul. He has smitten my life down to the ground. He has made me to dwell in dark places as those who have been long dead.
Car l'ennemi poursuit mon âme; il a foulé ma vie par terre; il m'as mis aux lieux ténébreux, comme ceux qui sont morts depuis longtemps.
4 Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me. My heart within me is desolate.
Et mon esprit se pâme en moi, mon cœur est désolé au-dedans de moi.
5 I remember the days of old. I meditate on all thy doings. I muse on the work of thy hands.
Il me souvient des jours anciens; je médite tous tes faits, [et] je discours des œuvres de tes mains.
6 I spread forth my hands to thee. My soul is as a weary land for thee. (Selah)
J'étends mes mains vers toi; mon âme s'adresse à toi comme une terre altérée: (Sélah)
7 Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah, my spirit fails. Hide not thy face from me, lest I become like those who go down into the pit.
Ô Eternel, hâte-toi, réponds-moi, l'esprit me défaut; ne cache point ta face arrière de moi, tellement que je devienne semblable à ceux qui descendent en la fosse.
8 Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning, for in thee do I trust. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to thee.
Fais-moi ouïr dès le matin ta miséricorde, car je me suis assuré en toi; fais-moi connaître le chemin par lequel j'ai à marcher, car j'ai élevé mon cœur vers toi.
9 Deliver me, O Jehovah, from my enemies. I flee to thee to hide me.
Eternel, délivre-moi de mes ennemis; [car] je me suis réfugié chez toi.
10 Teach me to do thy will, for thou are my God. Thy Spirit is good, lead me in the land of uprightness.
Enseigne-moi à faire ta volonté; car tu es mon Dieu; que ton bon Esprit me conduise [comme] par un pays uni.
11 Revive me, O Jehovah, for thy name's sake. In thy righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.
Eternel, rends-moi la vie pour l'amour de ton Nom; retire mon âme de la détresse, à cause de ta justice.
12 And in thy loving kindness cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul, for I am thy servant.
Et selon la bonté que [tu as pour moi] retranche mes ennemis, et détruis tous ceux qui tiennent mon âme serrée, parce que je suis ton serviteur.
