Psalms 138

1 I will give thee thanks with my whole heart. I will sing praises to thee before the gods.

De David. Je te célèbre de tout mon cœur, Je chante tes louanges en la présence de Dieu.

2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and give thanks to thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth. For thou have magnified thy word above all thy name.

Je me prosterne dans ton saint temple, Et je célèbre ton nom, à cause de ta bonté et de ta fidélité, Car ta renommée s’est accrue par l’accomplissement de tes promesses.

3 Thou answered me in the day that I called. Thou encouraged me with strength in my soul.

Le jour où je t’ai invoqué, tu m’as exaucé, Tu m’as rassuré, tu as fortifié mon âme.

4 All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O Jehovah, for they have heard the words of thy mouth.

Tous les rois de la terre te loueront, ô Éternel! En entendant les paroles de ta bouche;

5 Yea, they shall sing of the ways of Jehovah, for great is the glory of Jehovah.

Ils célébreront les voies de l’Éternel, Car la gloire de l’Éternel est grande.

6 For though Jehovah is high, yet he has respect to the lowly. But he knows the haughty from afar.

L’Éternel est élevé: il voit les humbles, Et il reconnaît de loin les orgueilleux.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou will revive me. Thou will stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand will save me.

Quand je marche au milieu de la détresse, tu me rends la vie, Tu étends ta main sur la colère de mes ennemis, Et ta droite me sauve.

8 Jehovah will perfect that which concerns me. Thy loving kindness, O Jehovah, is forever. Forsake not the works of thine own hands.

L’Éternel agira en ma faveur. Éternel, ta bonté dure toujours, N’abandonne pas les œuvres de tes mains!
