Psalms 135
1 Praise ye Jehovah. Praise ye the name of Jehovah. Praise, O ye servants of Jehovah,
Hallelujah! Lobet den Namen des HERRN! Lobet ihn, ihr Knechte des HERRN,
2 ye who stand in the house of Jehovah, in the courts of the house of our God.
die ihr stehet im Hause des HERRN, in den Vorhöfen des Hauses unsres Gottes!
3 Praise ye Jehovah, for Jehovah is good. Sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant.
Lobet den HERRN, denn gütig ist der HERR; singet seinem Namen, denn er ist lieblich!
4 For Jehovah has chosen Jacob to himself, Israel for his own possession.
Denn der HERR hat sich Jakob erwählt, Israel zu seinem besonderen Eigentum.
5 For I know that Jehovah is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
Denn ich weiß, daß der HERR groß ist; ja, unser Herr ist größer als alle Götter.
6 Whatever Jehovah pleased, that he has done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps,
Alles, was er will, das tut der HERR im Himmel und auf Erden, im Meer und in allen Tiefen:
7 who causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain, who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries,
Er führt Wolken herauf vom Ende der Erde, macht Blitze zum Regen und holt den Wind aus seinen Speichern hervor.
8 who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast,
Er schlug Ägyptens Erstgeburten, vom Menschen bis zum Vieh;
9 who sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants,
er sandte Zeichen und Wunder in deine Mitte, o Ägyptenland, gegen den Pharao und alle seine Knechte;
10 who smote many nations, and killed mighty kings-
er schlug große Nationen und tötete mächtige Könige;
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan-
Sihon, den König der Amoriter, und Og, den König zu Basan, und alle Könige Kanaans
12 and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.
und gab ihr Land als Erbe, als Erbe seinem Volke Israel.
13 Thy name, O Jehovah, is forever, thy memorial, O Jehovah, throughout all generations.
O HERR, dein Name währt ewig; HERR, dein Gedächtnis bleibt für und für!
14 For Jehovah will judge his people, and will relent concerning his servants.
Denn der HERR wird seinem Volke Recht schaffen und mit seinen Knechten Mitleid haben.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
Die Götzen der Heiden sind Silber und Gold, von Menschenhand gemacht.
16 They have mouths, but they speak not. They have eyes, but they see not.
Sie haben einen Mund und reden nicht, Augen haben sie und sehen nicht;
17 They have ears, but they hear not, nor is there any breath in their mouths.
Ohren haben sie und hören nicht, auch ist kein Odem in ihrem Mund!
18 Those who make them shall be like them, yea, everyone who trusts in them.
Ihnen sind gleich, die sie machen, ein jeder, der auf sie vertraut.
19 O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah. O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah.
Haus Israel, lobe den HERRN! Haus Aaron, lobe den HERRN!
20 O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah. Ye who fear Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah.
Haus Levi, lobe den HERRN! Die ihr den HERRN fürchtet, lobet den HERRN!
21 Blessed be Jehovah out of Zion, who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise ye Jehovah.
Gelobt sei der HERR von Zion aus, er, der zu Jerusalem wohnt! Hallelujah!
