Psalms 135
1 Praise ye Jehovah. Praise ye the name of Jehovah. Praise, O ye servants of Jehovah,
Louez l'Éternel! Louez le nom de l'Éternel; Louez-le, serviteurs de l'Éternel,
2 ye who stand in the house of Jehovah, in the courts of the house of our God.
Qui vous tenez dans la maison de l'Éternel, Dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu!
3 Praise ye Jehovah, for Jehovah is good. Sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant.
Louez l'Éternel; car l'Éternel est bon! Psalmodiez à la gloire de son nom; car il est clément:
4 For Jehovah has chosen Jacob to himself, Israel for his own possession.
L'Éternel a choisi pour lui Jacob; Il a pris Israël pour son partage.
5 For I know that Jehovah is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
Oui, je sais que l'Éternel est grand, Et que notre Seigneur est au-dessus de tous les dieux.
6 Whatever Jehovah pleased, that he has done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps,
L'Éternel fait tout ce qui lui plaît, Dans les cieux et sur la terre. Dans les mers et dans tous les abîmes.
7 who causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain, who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries,
Il fait monter des extrémités de la terre les nuées; Il fait briller les éclairs au milieu même de la pluie; Il fait sortir le vent de ses réservoirs.
8 who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast,
C'est lui qui a frappé les premiers-nés de l'Egypte, Depuis les hommes jusqu'aux bêtes.
9 who sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants,
Il a fait paraître au milieu de toi, ô Egypte, Des signes et des prodiges, Pour châtier Pharaon et tous ses serviteurs.
10 who smote many nations, and killed mighty kings-
Il a frappé de grandes nations. Et mis à mort de puissants rois:
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan-
Sihon, roi des Amoréens. Og, roi de Basan, Et tous les rois de Canaan.
12 and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.
Il a fait de leur territoire le patrimoine, Oui, le patrimoine d'Israël, son peuple.
13 Thy name, O Jehovah, is forever, thy memorial, O Jehovah, throughout all generations.
Éternel, ton nom demeure à perpétuité; Éternel, ta mémoire dure d'âge en âge!
14 For Jehovah will judge his people, and will relent concerning his servants.
L'Éternel fera droit à son peuple. Et il aura compassion de ses serviteurs.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
Les idoles des nations ne sont que de l'argent et de l'or. Oeuvres des mains de l'homme,
16 They have mouths, but they speak not. They have eyes, but they see not.
Elles ont une bouche, et elles ne parlent pas; Elles ont des yeux, et elles ne voient pas;
17 They have ears, but they hear not, nor is there any breath in their mouths.
Elles ont des oreilles, et elles n'entendent pas, Et il n'y a point de souffle dans leur bouche.
18 Those who make them shall be like them, yea, everyone who trusts in them.
Ceux qui les fabriquent, Et tous ceux qui mettent leur confiance en elles, Leur deviendront semblables!
19 O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah. O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah.
Maison d'Israël, bénis l'Éternel! Maison d'Aaron, bénis l'Éternel!
20 O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah. Ye who fear Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah.
Maison de Lévi, bénis l'Éternel! Vous qui craignez l'Éternel, bénissez l'Éternel!
21 Blessed be Jehovah out of Zion, who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise ye Jehovah.
Béni soit, de Sion, l'Éternel Qui fait de Jérusalem sa demeure! Louez l'Éternel!
