< Psalms 132 >
1 Jehovah, remember for David all his affliction,
2 how he swore to Jehovah, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
sicut iuravit Domino votum vovit Deo Iacob
3 Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed,
si introiero in tabernaculum domus meae si ascendero in lectum strati mei
4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids,
5 until I find out a place for Jehovah, a tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob.
et requiem temporibus meis donec inveniam locum Domino tabernaculum Deo Iacob
6 Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of the wood.
ecce audivimus eam in Efrata invenimus eam in campis silvae
7 We will go into his tabernacles. We will worship at his footstool.
introibimus in tabernacula eius adorabimus in loco ubi steterunt pedes eius
8 Arise, O Jehovah, into thy resting-place, thou, and the ark of thy strength.
surge Domine in requiem tuam tu et arca sanctificationis tuae
9 Let thy priest be clothed with righteousness, and let thy sanctified shout for joy.
sacerdotes tui induentur iustitia et sancti tui exultabunt
10 For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.
propter David servum tuum non avertas faciem christi tui
11 Jehovah has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: From the fruit of thy body I will set upon thy throne.
12 If thy sons will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their sons also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.
13 For Jehovah has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.
quoniam elegit Dominus Sion elegit eam in habitationem sibi
14 This is my resting place forever. Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
haec requies mea in saeculum saeculi hic habitabo quoniam elegi eam
15 I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.
viduam eius benedicens benedicam pauperes eius saturabo panibus
16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her sanctified shall shout aloud for joy.
17 There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.
illic producam cornu David paravi lucernam christo meo
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but upon himself his crown shall flourish.
