< Psalms 13 >

1 How long, O Jehovah? Will thou forget me forever? How long will thou hide thy face from me?
To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David. How long, Jehovah, wilt thou forget me for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, with sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and answer me, O Jehovah my God. Lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the death,
Consider, answer me, O Jehovah my God! lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the [sleep of] death;
4 lest my enemy say, I have prevailed against him, lest my adversaries rejoice when I am moved.
Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him! [lest] mine adversaries be joyful when I am moved.
5 But I have trusted in thy loving kindness. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
As for me, I have confided in thy loving-kindness; my heart shall be joyful in thy salvation.
6 I will sing to Jehovah because he has dealt bountifully with me.
I will sing unto Jehovah, for he hath dealt bountifully with me.
