< Psalms 125 >
1 Those who trust in Jehovah are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
[A Song of Ascents.] Those who trust in YHWH are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but remains forever.
2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so Jehovah is round about his people from this time forth and for evermore.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so YHWH surrounds his people from this time forth and forevermore.
3 For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous, that the righteous not put forth their hands to iniquity.
For the scepter of wickedness won't remain over the allotment of the righteous; so that the righteous won't use their hands to do evil.
4 Do good, O Jehovah, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts.
Do good, YHWH, to those who are good, to those who are upright in their hearts.
5 But as for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.
But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, YHWH will lead them away with evildoers. Peace be on Israel.
