Psalms 12

1 Help, Jehovah, for the holy man ceases, for the faithful fail from among the sons of men.

למנצח על-השמינית מזמור לדוד ב הושיעה יהוה כי-גמר חסיד כי-פסו אמונים מבני אדם

2 They speak falsehood everyone with his neighbor. With flattering lip, and with a double heart, they speak.

שוא ידברו--איש את-רעהו שפת חלקות--בלב ולב ידברו

3 Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaks great things,

יכרת יהוה כל-שפתי חלקות-- לשון מדברת גדלות

4 who have said, With our tongue will we prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?

אשר אמרו ללשננו נגביר--שפתינו אתנו מי אדון לנו

5 Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, now I will arise, says Jehovah. I will set him in the safety he gasps for.

משד עניים מאנקת אביונים עתה אקום יאמר יהוה אשית בישע יפיח לו

6 The words of Jehovah are pure words, as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, purified seven times.

אמרות יהוה אמרות טהרות כסף צרוף בעליל לארץ מזקק שבעתים

7 Thou will keep them, O Jehovah. Thou will preserve them from this generation forever.

אתה-יהוה תשמרם תצרנו מן-הדור זו לעולם

8 The wicked walk on every side when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
