< Psalms 11 >

1 In Jehovah I take refuge. How will ye say to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain.
in finem psalmus David in Domino confido quomodo dicitis animae meae transmigra in montes sicut passer
2 For, lo, the wicked bend the bow. They make ready their arrow upon the string that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
quoniam ecce peccatores intenderunt arcum paraverunt sagittas suas in faretra ut sagittent in obscuro rectos corde
3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can a righteous man do?
quoniam quae perfecisti destruxerunt iustus autem quid fecit
4 Jehovah is in his holy temple. Jehovah's throne is in heaven. His eyes, behold, his eyelids try, the sons of men.
Dominus in templo sancto suo Dominus in caelo sedis eius oculi eius in pauperem respiciunt palpebrae eius interrogant filios hominum
5 Jehovah tries the righteous man, but his soul hates the wicked man and him who loves violence.
Dominus interrogat iustum et impium qui autem diligit iniquitatem odit animam suam
6 He will rain snares upon sinners. Fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.
pluet super peccatores laqueos ignis et sulphur et spiritus procellarum pars calicis eorum
7 For Jehovah is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright man shall behold his face.
quoniam iustus Dominus et iustitias dilexit aequitatem vidit vultus eius
