Psalms 10
1 Why do thou stand afar off, O Jehovah? Why do thou hide thyself in times of trouble?
Señor, ¿por qué estás tan lejos? ¿Por qué te escondes de mi en momentos de tribulación?
2 In the pride of the wicked man the poor man is hotly pursued. Let them be taken in the devices that they have conceived.
Los malvados persiguen a los pobres con impunidad. Haz que queden atrapados en sus propios planes.
3 For the wicked man boasts of his heart's desire. And the greedy man renounces, yea, despises Jehovah.
Porque los malvados se jactan de sus deseos. Alaban al codicioso, pero tratan al Señor con desprecio.
4 The wicked man, in the pride of his countenance, says, He will not require it. All his thoughts are, There is no God.
Su orgullo no los deja acercarse a Dios. Nunca está Dios en sus pensamientos.
5 His ways are profane at all times. Thy judgments are far above out of his sight. As for all his adversaries, he puffs at them.
Todo lo que hacen les parece bueno. Son inconscientes de los juicios de Dios y ridiculizan a todos sus enemigos.
6 He says in his heart, I shall not be moved. To all generations I shall not be in adversity.
Ellos piensan dentro de sí: “Nada malo me pasará. Nunca estaré en problemas”.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression. Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
Sus palabras son solo maldición, mentiras y amenazas. Sus lenguas siempre están listas para esparcir aflicción y hacer daño.
8 He sits in the lurking-places of the villages. In the covert places he murders the innocent man. His eyes are secretly set against the poor man.
Se ocultan y tienden emboscadas en las aldeas, y están listos para matar a los inocentes que van por el camino. Siempre están en búsqueda de su próxima víctima.
9 He lurks in secret as a lion in his covert. He lies in wait to catch the poor man. He catches the poor man when he draws him in his net.
Se ocultan y esperan para atacar como el león, listos para salir de un salto de su escondite y atrapar a su víctima. Toman por sorpresa a los vulnerables, y lanzan una red sobre ellos.
10 He crouches, he bows down, and helpless men fall by his strong men.
Sus víctimas caen derrumbadas al suelo, sin forma de levantarse. Caen bajo la fuerza de los malvados.
11 He says in his heart, God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.
Ellos piensan: “Dios no se dará cuenta, pues mira hacia otra parte. Él no verá nada”.
12 Arise, O Jehovah, O God, lift up thy hand. Do not forget the poor.
¡Levántate, Señor! ¡Alza tu mano! No te olvides de los que no pueden defenderse.
13 Why does the wicked man despise God, and say in his heart, Thou will not require it?
¿Por qué los malvados piensan que pueden tratar a Dios con semejante desprecio? ¿Por qué creen que Dios no les pedirá cuentas?
14 Thou have seen. For thou behold mischief and spite, to repay with thy hand. The poor man commits himself to thee. Thou have been the helper of the fatherless.
Pero tú ves la aflicción y angustia que causan. Toma esto en tus manos. Los indefensos confían en ti, pues tú defiendes a los huérfanos.
15 Break thou the arm of the sinner and the evil man. His wickedness shall be sought, and shall not be found.
¡Destruye el poder de los malvados! Hazlos rendir cuentas a todos, hasta que no quede ni uno solo.
16 Jehovah is King forever and ever. The nations have perished out of his land.
¡Señor, tu eres Rey por siempre y para siempre! Las naciones desaparecerán de sus tierras.
17 Jehovah, thou have heard the desire of the humble. Thou will prepare their heart, thou will cause thine ear to hear,
Señor, tú has escuchado el gemir de los que sufren. Tú los escucharás y los reconfortarás.
18 to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may no more be terrible.
Tú defenderás los derechos del huérfano y del oprimido para que esos, que son apenas otros seres humanos, no los vuelvan a aterrorizar.
