Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend to my wisdom. Incline thine ear to my understanding,
Filho meu, presta atenção à minha sabedoria, inclina teus ouvidos ao meu entendimento.
2 that thou may preserve discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
Para que guardes o bom-senso; e teus lábios conservem o conhecimento.
3 For the lips of an interloping woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil.
Porque os lábios da mulher pervertida gotejam mel; e sua boca é mais suave que o azeite.
4 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
Porém seu fim é mais amargo que o absinto; é afiado como a espada de dois fios.
Seus pés descem à morte; seus passos conduzem ao Xeol. (Sheol h7585)
6 so that she does not find the level path of life. Her ways are unstable, and she does not know.
Para que não ponderes a vereda da vida, os percursos delas são errantes, e tu não os conhecerás.
7 Now therefore, ye sons, hearken to me, and do not depart from the words of my mouth.
E agora, filhos, escutai-me; e não vos desvieis das palavras de minha boca.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and do not come near the door of her house,
Mantenha teu caminho longe dela; e não te aproximes da porta da casa dela.
9 lest thou give thine honor to others, and thy years to the cruel,
Para que não dês tua honra a outros, nem teus anos [de vida] aos cruéis.
10 lest strangers be filled with thy strength, and thy labors be in the house of an alien,
Para que estranhos não se fartem de teu poder, e teus trabalhos [não sejam] aproveitados em casa alheia;
11 and thou mourn at thy latter end when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
E gemas em teu fim, quando tua carne e teu corpo estiverem consumidos.
12 and say, How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof.
E digas: Como eu odiei a correção, e meu coração desprezou a repreensão?
13 Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!
E não escutei a voz de meus ensinadores, nem ouvi a meus mestres.
14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the assembly and congregation.
Quase me achei em todo mal, no meio da congregação e do ajuntamento.
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
Bebe água de tua [própria] cisterna, e das correntes de teu [próprio] poço.
16 Should thy springs be dispersed abroad, and streams of water in the streets?
Derramar-se-iam por fora tuas fontes, [e] pelas ruas os ribeiros de águas?
17 Let them be for thyself alone, and not for strangers with thee.
Sejam somente para ti, e não para os estranhos contigo.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of thy youth:
Seja bendito o teu manancial, e alegra-te com a mulher de tua juventude.
19 a loving hind and a pleasant doe. Let her breasts satisfy thee at all times, and be thou ravished always with her love.
[Seja ela] uma cerva amorosa e gazela graciosa; que os seios dela te fartem em todo tempo; e anda pelo caminho do amor dela continuamente.
20 For why should thou, my son, be ravished with an interloping woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
E por que tu, filho meu, andarias perdido pela estranha, e abraçarias o peito da [mulher] alheia?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah, and he makes level all his paths.
Pois os caminhos do homem estão perante os olhos do SENHOR; e ele pondera todos os seus percursos.
22 His own iniquities shall take a wicked man, and he shall be held with the cords of his sin.
O perverso será preso pelas suas [próprias] perversidades; e será detido pelas cordas de seu [próprio] pecado.
23 He shall die for lack of instruction. And in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Ele morrerá pela falta de correção; e andará sem rumo pela grandeza de sua loucura.
