< Proverbs 28 >
1 A wicked man flees when no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Munthu woyipa amathawa ngakhale palibe wina womuthamangitsa, koma wolungama ndi wolimba mtima ngati mkango.
2 For the transgression of a land many are the rulers of it. But by men of understanding and knowledge the state shall be prolonged.
Pamene mʼdziko muli kuwukirana, dzikolo limakhala ndi olamulira ambiri, koma anthu omvetsa ndi odziwa zinthu bwino ndiwo angakhazikitse bata mʼdzikolo nthawi yayitali.
3 A needy man who oppresses the poor is a sweeping rain which leaves no food.
Munthu wosauka amene amapondereza osauka anzake ali ngati mvula yamkuntho imene imawononga mbewu mʼmunda.
4 Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but such as keep the law contend with them.
Amene amakana malamulo amatamanda anthu oyipa, koma amene amasunga malamulo amatsutsana nawo.
5 Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek Jehovah understand all things.
Anthu oyipa samvetsa za chiweruzo cholungama, koma amene amafuna kuchita zimene Yehova afuna amachimvetsetsa bwino.
6 Better is the poor man who walks in his integrity, than he who is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
Munthu wosauka wa makhalidwe abwino aposa munthu wolemera wa makhalidwe okhotakhota.
7 He who keeps the law is a wise son, but he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.
Amene amasunga malamulo ndi mwana wozindikira zinthu, koma amene amayenda ndi anthu adyera amachititsa manyazi abambo ake.
8 He who augments his substance by interest and increase, gathers it for him who has pity on the poor.
Amene amachulukitsa chuma chake polandira chiwongoladzanja chochuluka amakundikira chumacho anthu ena, amene adzachitira chifundo anthu osauka.
9 He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
Wokana kumvera malamulo ngakhale pemphero lake lomwe limamunyansa Yehova.
10 He who causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit. But the perfect shall inherit good.
Amene amatsogolera anthu olungama kuti ayende mʼnjira yoyipa adzagwera mu msampha wake womwe, koma anthu opanda cholakwa adzalandira cholowa chabwino.
11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit, but a poor man who has understanding searches him out.
Munthu wolemera amadziyesa kuti ndi wanzeru, koma munthu wosauka amene ali ndi nzeru zodziwa zinthu amamutulukira.
12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
Pamene olungama apambana pamakhala chikondwerero chachikulu; koma pamene anthu oyipa apatsidwa ulamuliro, anthu amabisala.
13 He who covers his transgressions shall not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them shall obtain mercy.
Wobisa machimo ake sadzaona mwayi, koma aliyense amene awulula ndi kuleka machimowo, adzalandira chifundo.
14 Happy is the man who fears always, but he who hardens his heart shall fall into mischief.
Ndi wodala munthu amene amaopa Yehova nthawi zonse, koma amene aumitsa mtima wake adzagwa mʼmavuto.
15 A roaring lion, and a ranging bear, is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
Ngati mkango wobuma kapena chimbalangondo cholusa ndi mmenenso amakhalira munthu woyipa akamalamulira anthu osauka.
16 The ruler who lacks understanding is also a great oppressor, but he who hates covetousness shall prolong his days.
Wolamulira amene samvetsa zinthu ndiye amakhala wankhanza koma amene amadana ndi phindu lopeza mwachinyengo adzakhala ndi moyo wautali.
17 A man who is laden with the blood of any person shall flee to the pit. Let no man stay him.
Munthu amene wapalamula mlandu wopha munthu adzakhala wothawathawa mpaka imfa yake; wina aliyense asamuthandize.
18 He who walks uprightly shall be delivered, but he who is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
Amene amayenda mokhulupirika adzapulumutsidwa koma amene njira zake ndi zokhotakhota adzagwa mʼdzenje.
19 He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who follows after vanity shall have poverty enough.
Amene amalima mʼmunda mwake adzakhala ndi chakudya chochuluka, koma amene amangosewera adzakhala mʼmphawi.
20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings, but he who makes haste to be rich shall not be unpunished.
Munthu wokhulupirika adzadalitsika kwambiri, koma wofuna kulemera mofulumira adzalangidwa.
21 To have respect of persons is not good, nor that a man should transgress for a piece of bread.
Kukondera si kwabwino, ena amachita zolakwazo chifukwa cha kachidutswa ka buledi.
22 He who has an evil eye hastens after riches, and does not know that want shall come upon him.
Munthu wowumira amafunitsitsa kulemera koma sazindikira kuti umphawi udzamugwera.
23 He who rebukes a man shall afterward find more favor than he who flatters with the tongue.
Amene amadzudzula mnzake potsiriza pake mnzakeyo adzamukonda kwambiri, kupambana amene amanena mawu oshashalika.
24 He who robs his father or his mother, and says, It is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer.
Amene amabera abambo ake kapena amayi ake namanena kuti “kumeneko sikulakwa,” ndi mnzake wa munthu amene amasakaza.
25 He who is of a greedy spirit stirs up strife, but he who puts his trust in Jehovah shall be made fat.
Munthu wadyera amayambitsa mikangano, koma amene amadalira Yehova adzalemera.
26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks wisely, he shall be delivered.
Amene amadzidalira yekha ndi chitsiru, koma amene amatsata nzeru za ena adzapulumuka.
27 He who gives to the poor shall not lack, but he who hides his eyes shall have many a curse.
Amene amapereka kwa osauka sadzasowa kanthu, koma amene amatsinzina maso ake adzatembereredwa kwambiri.
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves, but when they perish, the righteous increase.
Pamene anthu oyipa apatsidwa ulamuliro anthu amabisala, koma anthu oyipa akawonongeka olungama amapeza bwino.
