Proverbs 19
1 Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.
೧ಕಪಟವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಮೂಢನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ, ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ದರಿದ್ರನೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ.
2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good. And he who hastens with his feet sins.
೨ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೋರುವುದು ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ, ದುಡುಕುವ ಕಾಲು ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪುವುದು.
3 The foolishness of a man subverts his way, and his heart rages against Jehovah.
೩ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಮೂರ್ಖತನದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುದಿಯುವನು.
4 Wealth adds many friends, but a poor man is separated from his friend.
೪ಭಾಗ್ಯವಂತನಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಮಂದಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು, ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನೂ ದೂರವಾಗುವನು.
5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who utters lies shall not escape.
೫ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಡದೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡುವವನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳನು.
6 Many will entreat the favor of a generous man, and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.
೬ಉದಾರಿಯ ಕಟಾಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಅನೇಕರು ಕೋರುವರು, ದಾನಶೂರನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಲ್ಲವೇ.
7 All the brothers of a poor man regard him inferior, how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues with words, but they are gone.
೭ಬಡವನನ್ನು ಬಂಧುಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವರು, ಹೌದು, ಮಿತ್ರರೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗುವರು. ಅವರ ಬರೀ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಏನೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕದು.
8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.
೮ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವವನು ತನಗೆ ತಾನೇ ಮಿತ್ರನು, ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವವನು ಮೇಲನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವನು.
9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who utters lies shall perish.
೯ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಡದೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡುವವನು ಹಾಳಾಗುವನು.
10 Luxurious living is not fitting for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over rulers.
೧೦ಮೂಢನಿಗೆ ಸುಖಭೋಗ ಜೀವನ ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ, ದಾಸನಿಗೆ ದೊರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲಣ ದೊರೆತನ ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ.
11 The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
೧೧ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ವಿವೇಕವು ಅವನ ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿ, ಪರರ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸದಿರುವುದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಭೂಷಣ.
12 The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion, but his favor is as dew upon the grass.
೧೨ರಾಜನ ರೋಷವು ಸಿಂಹದ ಗರ್ಜನೆ, ಅವನ ದಯೆಯು ಪೈರಿನ ಇಬ್ಬನಿ.
13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father, and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
೧೩ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನಾದ ಮಗನು ತಂದೆಗೆ ಹಾನಿ, ಜಗಳವಾಡುವ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ತಟತಟನೆ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಕ್ಕುವ ಹನಿ.
14 House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Jehovah.
೧೪ಮನೆಮಾರು, ಆಸ್ತಿಪಾಸ್ತಿಯು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಂದ ದೊರಕುವವು, ವಿವೇಕಿನಿಯಾದ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವೇ.
15 Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and the idle soul shall suffer hunger.
೧೫ಮೈಗಳ್ಳತನವು ಗಾಢನಿದ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿಸುವುದು, ಸೋಮಾರಿಯು ಹಸಿವೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
16 He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul. He who is careless of his ways shall die.
೧೬ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುವವನು ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುವನು, ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸದವನು ಸಾಯುವನು.
17 He who has pity upon a poor man lends to Jehovah, and he will repay him his good deed.
೧೭ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸುವವನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಸಾಲಕೊಡುವವನು, ಆ ಉಪಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುಪಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವನು.
18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
೧೮ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಬರುವುದೆಂಬ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿಂದ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸು, ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಲು ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಬೇಡ,
19 A man of great wrath shall bear the penalty, for if thou deliver him, thou must do it yet again.
೧೯ಕೋಪಿಷ್ಠನು ತನಗಾಗುವ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಲಿ, ಬಿಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಪ್ರತಿಬಾರಿಯೂ ಬಿಡಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುವುದು.
20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou may be wise in thy latter end.
೨೦ಬುದ್ಧಿವಾದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳು, ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನಾಲಿಸು, ಮುಂದೆ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾಗುವಿ.
21 There are many devices in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah, that shall stand.
೨೧ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪಗಳಿವೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವೇ ಈಡೇರುವುದು.
22 That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness, and a poor man is better than a liar.
೨೨ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಯಸುವಂಥದ್ದು ನಿಷ್ಠೆಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಬಡವನಾಗಿರುವುದು ಉತ್ತಮ.
23 The fear of Jehovah is life to a man, and he shall abide satisfied. He shall not be visited with evil.
೨೩ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಯವು ಜೀವದಾಯಕವು, ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಸಂಭವಿಸದು.
24 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
೨೪ಮೈಗಳ್ಳನು ಪಾತ್ರೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕೈ ಮುಳುಗಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲಾರನು.
25 Smite a scoffer, and a simple man will learn prudence. And reprove him who has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
೨೫ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನಿಗೆ ಪೆಟ್ಟುಹೊಡೆ, ನೋಡಿದ ಅವಿವೇಕಿ ಜಾಣನಾಗುವನು, ವಿವೇಕಿಯನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸು, ತಾನೇ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವನು.
26 He who does violence to his father, and chases away his mother, is a son that causes shame and brings reproach.
೨೬ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು, ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸುವ ಮಗನು, ನಾಚಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವನು.
27 To err from the words of knowledge, cease, my son, to hear instruction.
೨೭ಮಗನೇ, ಬುದ್ಧಿವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಉಪದೇಶ ಕೇಳುವುದನ್ನೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡು.
28 A worthless witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked swallows iniquity.
೨೮ನೀಚ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಗೇಲಿಮಾಡುವನು, ದುಷ್ಟರ ಬಾಯಿ ದ್ರೋಹವನ್ನು ಆತುರದಿಂದ ನುಂಗುವುದು.
29 Judgments are prepared for scoffers, and stripes for the back of fools.
೨೯ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕರಿಗೆ ದಂಡನೆಯ ತೀರ್ಪು ಸಿದ್ಧ, ಮೂಢರ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಪೆಟ್ಟು ಖಂಡಿತ.
