< Proverbs 10 >

1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.
Ɔkwan bɔne so ahonya nni bo, nanso trenee gye onipa fi owu mu.
3 Jehovah will not allow the soul of a righteous man to famish, but he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
Awurade remma ɔkɔm nne ɔtreneeni na omumɔyɛfo de, ɔka nʼadepa gu.
4 He who works with a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Nsa a ɛnyɛ adwuma ma onipa di hia, nanso nsiyɛfo nsa de ahonya ba.
5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son. He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.
Nea ɔboaboa nnɔbae ano wɔ ahuhurubere no yɛ ɔba nyansafo na nea ɔda wɔ twabere mu no yɛ ɔba nimguaseni.
6 Blessings are upon the head of a righteous man, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7 The memory of a righteous man is blessed, but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments, but a prating fool shall fall.
Koma mu nyansafo tie ɔhyɛ nsɛm, na ɔkwasea kasafo hwe ase.
9 He who walks uprightly walks securely, but he who perverts his ways shall be known.
Ɔnokwafo nantew dwoodwoo, na nea ɔfa akwan kɔntɔnkye so no ho bɛda adi.
10 He who winks with the eye causes sorrow. And a prating fool shall fall.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a fountain of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
Ɔtreneeni anom yɛ nkwa asuti, na akakabensɛm ayɛ omumɔyɛfo anom ma.
12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all transgressions.
Ɔtan kanyan mpaapaemu, nanso ɔdɔ kata mfomso nyinaa so.
13 In the lips of him who has discernment wisdom is found, but a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.
Wohu nyansa wɔ nhumufo anom, na abaa fata nea onni adwene akyi.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge, but the mouth of a foolish man is a present destruction.
Anyansafo kora nimdeɛ, nanso ɔkwasea ano frɛfrɛ ɔsɛe.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
Adefo ahonya yɛ wɔn kuropɔn a wɔabɔ ho ban, nanso ahiafo hia yɛ wɔn asehwe.
16 The labor of a righteous man produces life. The fruit of a wicked man is to sin.
Atreneefo akatua de nkwa brɛ wɔn, na nea amumɔyɛfo nya no de asotwe brɛ wɔn.
17 He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof errs.
Nea otie ntetew pa no kyerɛ nkwa kwan, na nea ɔpo nteɛso no di afoforo anim yera kwan.
18 He who hides hatred is of lying lips. And he who utters a slander is a fool.
Nea ɔkata nitan so no yɛ ɔtorofo, na nea odi nseku no yɛ ɔkwasea.
19 Transgression is not lacking in the multitude of words, but he who refrains his lips does wisely.
Mfomso mpa ɔkasa bebree mu, na nea ɔkora ne tɛkrɛma no yɛ onyansafo.
20 The tongue of a righteous man is choice silver. The heart of the wicked is little worth.
Ɔtreneeni tɛkrɛma yɛ dwetɛ ankasa nanso omumɔyɛfo koma nni bo.
21 The lips of a righteous man feeds many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.
22 The blessing of Jehovah, it makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief, and so is wisdom to a man of understanding.
Bɔneyɛ yɛ anigyede ma ɔkwasea, nanso nea ɔwɔ nimdeɛ anigye wɔ nyansa mu.
24 The fear of a wicked man shall come upon him. And the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
Nea amumɔyɛfo suro no bɛba wɔn so; na nea atreneefo pɛ no, wɔde bɛma wɔn.
25 When the whirlwind passes, the wicked man is no more, but the righteous man is an everlasting foundation.
Sɛ ahum no betwa mu a, amumɔyɛfo yera, nanso atreneefo gyina hɔ pintinn afebɔɔ.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.
Sɛnea nsa keka ɛse, na wusiw kɔ aniwa no, saa ara na ɔkwadwofo yɛ ma wɔn a wɔsoma no.
27 The fear of Jehovah prolongs days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
Awurade suro ma nkwa tenten, nanso wotwa amumɔyɛfo nkwa so.
28 The hope of the righteous is gladness, but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
Atreneefo anidaso de ahotɔ ba, nanso amumɔyɛfo anidaso nkosi hwee.
29 The way of Jehovah is a stronghold to the upright, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
Awurade kwan yɛ guankɔbea ma ɔtreneeni, nanso ɛyɛ ɔsɛe ma wɔn a wɔyɛ bɔne.
30 A righteous man shall never be removed, but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
Wɔrentɔre atreneefo ase da, nanso amumɔyɛfo renka asase no so.
31 The mouth of a righteous man brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue shall be cut off.
Nyansa fi ɔtreneeni anom ba nanso tɛkrɛma a ɛdaadaa no, wobetwa akyene.
32 The lips of a righteous man knows what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverseness.
Ɔtreneeni ano nim ade a ɛfata na omumɔyɛfo ano nim nea ɛyɛ nnaadaasɛm nko ara.
