Philemon 1
1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy the brother, to Philemon our beloved and co-workman,
PAOLO, prigione di Gesù Cristo, e il fratello Timoteo, a Filemone, nostro diletto, e compagno d'opera;
2 and to the beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the congregation at thy house:
ed alla diletta Appia, e ad Archippo, nostro compagno di milizia, ed alla chiesa che [è] in casa tua;
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
grazia a voi e pace, da Dio Padre nostro, e [dal] Signor Gesù Cristo.
4 I thank my God, making recollection of thee always in my prayers,
Io rendo grazie all'Iddio mio, facendo sempre di te memoria nelle mie orazioni;
5 hearing of thy love and faith, which thou have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the sanctified,
udendo la tua carità, e la fede che tu hai inverso il Signore Gesù, e inverso tutti i santi;
6 so that the fellowship of thy faith may become potent (in the knowledge of every good thing in us) for Christ Jesus.
acciocchè la comunione della tua fede sia efficace, col far riconoscere tutto il bene che [è] in voi, inverso Cristo Gesù.
7 For we have much joy and encouragement in thy love, because the bowels of the sanctified have been refreshed by thee, brother.
Perciocchè noi abbiamo grande allegrezza e consolazione della tua carità; poichè le viscere dei santi siano state per te ricreate, fratello.
8 Therefore, though I have much boldness in Christ to command thee that which is befitting,
PERCIÒ, benchè io abbia molta libertà in Cristo, di comandarti ciò che è del dovere;
9 because of love I rather beseech, being such as aged Paul, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
[pur nondimeno], più tosto [ti] prego per carità così come sono, Paolo, vecchio, ed al presente ancora prigione di Gesù Cristo;
10 I beseech thee for my child Onesimus, whom I begot in my bonds.
ti prego, [dico], per lo mio figliuolo Onesimo, il quale io ho generato ne' miei legami.
11 A man formerly unprofitable to thee, but now is profitable to thee and to me, whom I sent back.
Il quale già ti [fu] disutile, ma ora [è] utile a te ed a me.
12 And thou should welcome him, that is, my bowels.
Il quale io ho rimandato; or tu accoglilo, cioè, le mie viscere.
13 Whom I wanted to keep back for myself, so that in thy behalf he might serve me in the bonds of the good news.
Io lo voleva ritenere appresso di me, acciocchè in vece tua mi ministrasse nei legami dell'evangelo;
14 But I wanted to do nothing without thy mind, so that thy goodness might not be as from obligation, but from volition.
ma non ho voluto far nulla senza il tuo parere; acciocchè il tuo beneficio non fosse come per necessità, ma di spontanea volontà.
15 For perhaps because of this he departed for an hour, so that thou might receive him back forever, (aiōnios g166)
Perciocchè, forse per questa cagione egli si è dipartito [da te] per un breve tempo, acciocchè tu lo ricoveri in perpetuo; (aiōnios g166)
16 no longer as a bondman, but above a bondman, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much more to thee, both in flesh and in the Lord.
non più come servo, ma da più di servo, [come] caro fratello, a me sommamente; ora, quanto più a te, ed in carne, e nel Signore?
17 If then thou have me a partner, accept him as myself.
Se dunque tu mi tieni per consorte, accoglilo come me stesso.
18 But if he has wronged thee, or owes anything, charge this to me.
Che se ti ha fatto alcun torto, o ti deve [cosa alcuna], scrivilo a mia ragione.
19 I Paul write with my hand, I will repay, so that I may not say to thee that thou owe me in return even thyself.
Io Paolo ho scritto [questo] di man propria, io [lo] pagherò, per non dirti che tu mi devi più di ciò, [cioè] te stesso.
20 Yes, brother, let me have a favor of thee in the Lord. Refresh my bowels in the Lord.
Deh! fratello, fammi pro [in ciò] nel Signore; ricrea le mie viscere nel Signore.
21 Being confident in thine obedience I wrote to thee, knowing that thou will do above what I say.
Io ti ho scritto, confidandomi della tua ubbidienza, sapendo che tu farai eziandio sopra ciò che io dico.
22 But simultaneously also prepare a lodging for me, for I hope that by your prayers I will be granted to you.
OR apparecchiami insieme ancora albergo; perciocchè io spero che per le vostre orazioni vi sarò donato.
23 Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, salutes thee,
Epafra, prigione meco in Cristo Gesù,
24 and Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my co-workmen.
e Marco, ed Aristarco, e Dema, e Luca, miei compagni d'opera, ti salutano.
25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with your spirit. Truly.
La grazia del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo [sia] con lo spirito vostro. Amen.
