Numbers 35
1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,
യഹോവ പിന്നെയും യെരീഹോവിന്നെതിരെ യോൎദ്ദാന്നരികെ മോവാബ് സമഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:
2 Command the sons of Israel, that they give to the Levites from the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in. And ye shall give suburbs for the cities round about them to the Levites.
യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്നു ലേവ്യൎക്കു വസിപ്പാൻ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കേണമെന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിക്ക; പട്ടണങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ അവയുടെ പുല്പുറവും നിങ്ങൾ ലേവ്യൎക്കു കൊടുക്കേണം.
3 And they shall have the cities to dwell in, and their suburbs shall be for their cattle, and for their substance, and for all their beasts.
പട്ടണങ്ങൾ അവൎക്കു പാൎപ്പിടമായിരിക്കേണം; അവയുടെ പുല്പുറം ആടുമാടുകൾ മുതലായ സകലമൃഗസമ്പത്തിന്നുംവേണ്ടി ആയിരിക്കേണം.
4 And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give to the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.
നിങ്ങൾ ലേവ്യൎക്കു കൊടുക്കേണ്ടുന്ന പുല്പുറം. പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ മതിലിങ്കൽതുടങ്ങി പുറത്തോട്ടു ചുറ്റും ആയിരം മുഴം വിസ്താരം ആയിരിക്കേണം.
5 And ye shall measure outside the city for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the midst. This shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.
പട്ടണം നടുവാക്കി അതിന്നു പുറമെ കിഴക്കോട്ടു രണ്ടായിരം മുഴവും തെക്കോട്ടു രണ്ടായിരം മുഴവും പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു രണ്ടായിരം മുഴവും വടക്കോട്ടു രണ്ടായിരം മുഴവും അളക്കേണം; ഇതു അവൎക്കു പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ പുല്പുറം ആയിരിക്കേണം.
6 And of the cities which ye shall give to the Levites, there shall be the six cities of refuge, which ye shall give for the manslayer to flee to. And besides them ye shall give forty-two cities.
നിങ്ങൾ ലേവ്യൎക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ആറു സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങളായിരിക്കേണം; കൊലചെയ്തവൻ അവിടേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അവയെ അവന്നുവേണ്ടി വേറുതിരിക്കേണം; ഇവ കൂടാതെ നിങ്ങൾ വേറെയും നാല്പത്തുരണ്ടു പട്ടണങ്ങളെ കൊടുക്കേണം.
7 All the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities, them with their suburbs.
അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ ലേവ്യൎക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങൾ എല്ലാംകൂടെ നാല്പത്തെട്ടു ആയിരിക്കേണം; അവയും അവയുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളും കൊടുക്കേണം.
8 And concerning the cities which ye shall give of the possession of the sons of Israel, from the many ye shall take many, and from the few ye shall take few. Everyone according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give of his cities to the Levites.
യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്നു ജനമേറിയവർ ഏറെയും ജനം കുറഞ്ഞവർ കുറെയും പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കേണം; ഓരോ ഗോത്രം തനിക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്ന അവകാശത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ലേവ്യൎക്കു പട്ടണങ്ങളെ കൊടുക്കേണം.
9 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:
10 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, When ye pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
നീ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ യോൎദ്ദാൻ കടന്നു കനാൻദേശത്തു എത്തിയശേഷം
11 then ye shall appoint cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
ചില പട്ടണങ്ങൾ സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങളായി വേറുതിരിക്കേണം; അബദ്ധവശാൽ ഒരുത്തനെ കൊന്നുപോയവൻ അവിടേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോകേണം.
12 And the cities shall be to you for refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer not die until he stands before the congregation for judgment.
കൊലചെയ്തവൻ സഭയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വിസ്താരത്തിന്നു നില്ക്കുംവരെ അവൻ പ്രതികാരകന്റെ കയ്യാൽ മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവ സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങൾ ആയിരിക്കേണം.
13 And the cities which ye shall give shall be for you six cities of refuge.
നിങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ആറെണ്ണം സങ്കേതനഗരം ആയിരിക്കേണം.
14 Ye shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and three cities ye shall give in the land of Canaan. They shall be cities of refuge.
യോൎദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ മൂന്നു പട്ടണവും കനാൻദേശത്തു മൂന്നു പട്ടണവും കൊടുക്കേണം; അവ സങ്കേതനഗരങ്ങൾ ആയിരിക്കേണം.
15 For the sons of Israel, and for the stranger and for the sojourner among them, these six cities shall be for refuge, that everyone who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
അബദ്ധവശാൽ ഒരുത്തനെ കൊല്ലുന്നവൻ ഏവനും അവിടേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ ആറുപട്ടണം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കും പരദേശിക്കും വന്നുപാൎക്കുന്നവന്നും സങ്കേതം ആയിരിക്കേണം.
16 But if he smote him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.
എന്നാൽ ആരെങ്കിലും ഇരുമ്പായുധംകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തനെ അടിച്ചിട്ടു അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവൻ കുലപാതകൻ; കുലപാതകൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
17 And if he smote him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.
മരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരുത്തനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവൻ കുലപാതകൻ; കുലപാതകൻ മരണ ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
18 Or if he smote him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.
അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ആരെങ്കിലും കയ്യിലിരുന്ന മരയായുധംകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തനെ അടിച്ചിട്ടു അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവൻ കുലപാതകൻ; കുലപാതകൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
19 The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death. When he meets him, he shall put him to death.
രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ തന്നേ കുലപാതകനെ കൊല്ലേണം; അവനെ കണ്ടുകൂടുമ്പോൾ അവനെ കൊല്ലേണം.
20 And if he thrust him from hatred, or hurled at him, lying in wait, so that he died,
ആരെങ്കിലും ദ്വേഷംനിമിത്തം ഒരുത്തനെ കുത്തുകയോ കരുതിക്കൂട്ടി അവന്റെമേൽ വല്ലതും എറികയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ,
21 or in enmity smote him with his hand, so that he died, he who smote him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death, when he meets him.
അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ശത്രുതയാൽ കൈകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അടിച്ചിട്ടു അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവനെ കൊന്നവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം. അവൻ കുലപാതകൻ; രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ കുലപാതകനെ കണ്ടുകൂടുമ്പോൾ കൊന്നുകളയേണം.
22 But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or hurled upon him anything without lying in wait,
എന്നാൽ ആരെങ്കിലും ശത്രുതകൂടാതെ പെട്ടെന്നു ഒരുത്തനെ കുത്തുകയോ കരുതാതെ വല്ലതും അവന്റെമേൽ എറിഞ്ഞുപോകയോ,
23 or with any stone, by which a man may die, not seeing him, and cast it upon him, so that he died, and he was not his enemy, nor sought his harm,
അവന്നു ശത്രുവായിരിക്കാതെയും അവന്നു ദോഷം വിചാരിക്കാതെയും അവൻ മരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ കാണാതെ കല്ലു എറികയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവൻ മരിച്ചു പോയാൽ
24 then the congregation shall judge between the smiter and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances.
കൊലചെയ്തവന്നും രക്തപ്രതികാരകന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ ഈ ന്യായങ്ങളെ അനുസരിച്ചു സഭ വിധിക്കേണം.
25 And the congregation shall deliver the manslayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge where he fled. And he shall dwell in it until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
കൊലചെയ്തവനെ സഭ രക്തപ്രതികാരകന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കേണം; അവൻ ഓടിപ്പോയിരുന്ന സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിലേക്കു അവനെ മടക്കി അയക്കേണം; വിശുദ്ധതൈലത്താൽ അഭിഷിക്തനായ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മരണംവരെ അവൻ അവിടെ പാൎക്കേണം.
26 But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge where he flees,
എന്നാൽ കൊലചെയ്തവൻ ഓടിപ്പോയിരുന്ന സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിന്റെ അതിർ വിട്ടു പുറത്തു വരികയും
27 and the avenger of blood find him outside the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood,
അവനെ അവന്റെ സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിന്റെ അതിരിന്നു പുറത്തുവെച്ചു കണ്ടു രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ കൊലചെയ്തവനെ കൊല്ലുകയും ചെയ്താൽ അവന്നു രക്തപാതകം ഇല്ല.
28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the manslayer shall return into the land of his possession.
അവൻ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മരണംവരെ തന്റെ സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിൽ പാൎക്കേണ്ടിയിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ കൊലചെയ്തവന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മരണശേഷം തന്റെ അവകാശഭൂമിയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകാം.
29 And these things shall be for a statute and ordinance to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
ഇതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തലമുറതലമുറയായി നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലവാസസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ന്യായവിധിക്കുള്ള പ്രമാണം ആയിരിക്കേണം.
30 Whoever kills any person, the murderer shall be slain at the mouth of witnesses, but one witness shall not testify against any person so that he dies.
ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരുത്തനെ കൊന്നാൽ കുലപാതകൻ സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിപ്രകാരം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ നേരെ മരണശിക്ഷെക്കു ഏകസാക്ഷിയുടെ മൊഴി മതിയാകുന്നതല്ല.
31 Moreover ye shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall surely be put to death.
മരണയോഗ്യനായ കുലപാതകന്റെ ജീവന്നുവേണ്ടി നിങ്ങൾ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവില വാങ്ങരുതു; അവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ തന്നേ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
32 And ye shall take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
സങ്കേതനഗരത്തിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയവൻ പുരോഹിതന്റെ മരണത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ നാട്ടിൽ മടങ്ങിവന്നു പാൎക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിങ്ങൾ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവില വാങ്ങരുതു.
33 So ye shall not pollute the land in which ye are, for blood, it pollutes the land. And no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.
നിങ്ങൾ പാൎക്കുന്ന ദേശം അങ്ങനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുതു; രക്തം ദേശത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു; ദേശത്തിൽ ചൊരിഞ്ഞ രക്തത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി രക്തം ചൊരിയിച്ചവന്റെ രക്തത്താൽ അല്ലാതെ ദേശത്തിന്നു പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം സാദ്ധ്യമല്ല.
34 And thou shall not defile the land which ye inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell, for I, Jehovah, dwell in the midst of the sons of Israel.
അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അധിവസിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ പാൎപ്പിടമായ ദേശം അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുതു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ അധിവസിക്കുന്നു.
