Numbers 1
1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they came out of the land of Egypt, saying,
Und der Herr redete mit Moses in der Wüste Sinai im Festgezelt am ersten Tage des zweiten Monats im zweiten Jahre nach ihrem Auszug aus dem Land Ägypten:
2 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, every male, by their polls,
"Erhebt die Gesamtzahl der israelitischen Gesamtgemeinde nach ihren Sippen und Familien, in Namenszählung, alles Männliche aber nach der Kopfzahl!
3 from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go forth to war in Israel. Thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
Von zwanzig Jahren an und darüber sollt ihr in Israel alle Kampffähigen nach ihren Scharen mustern, du und Aaron!
4 And with you there shall be a man of every tribe, each one head of his fathers' house.
Euch zugesellt soll für jeden Stamm je einer sein, und zwar sei es das Familienoberhaupt!
5 And these are the names of the men who shall stand with you. Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.
Dies sind die Namen der Männer, die euch beistehen sollen: für Ruben: Elisur, Sedeurs Sohn;
6 Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
für Simeon: Selumiel, Surisaddais Sohn;
7 Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
für Juda: Amminadabs Sohn Nachson;
8 Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar.
für Issakar: Suars Sohn Netanel;
9 Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Helon.
für Zabulon: Chelons Sohn Eliab;
10 Of the sons of Joseph, of Ephraim: Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

11 Of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gideoni.

12 Of Dan: Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

13 Of Asher: Pagiel the son of Ochran.
für Asser: Okrans Sohn Pagiel;
14 Of Gad: Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
für Gad: Reuels Sohn Eljasaph;
15 Of Naphtali: Ahira the son of Enan.
für Naphtali: Enans Sohn Achira."
16 These are those who were called from the congregation, the rulers of the tribes of their fathers. They were the heads of the thousands of Israel.
Dies waren die Berufenen der Gemeinde, die Fürsten ihrer väterlichen Stämme, die Häupter der Sippen Israels.
17 And Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name,
So nahm Moses mit Aaron diese namentlich bezeichneten Männer.
18 and they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month. And they declared their ancestry after their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
Die Gesamtgemeinde aber versammelten sie am ersten des zweiten Monats. Da trugen sie sich nach der Geburt in ihren Sippen familienweise ein, in Namenszählung, Kopf für Kopf, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber.
19 As Jehovah commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
Wie der Herr dem Moses befohlen, so musterte er sie in der Wüste Sinai.
20 And the sons of Reuben, Israel's firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war,
Die Söhne Rubens, des Erstgeborenen Israels, entsprachen in ihren Geschlechtern, Sippen und Familien in Namenszählung, Kopf für Kopf, alles Männliche, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, alle Wehrpflichtigen,
21 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty-six thousand and five hundred.

22 Of the sons of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, those who were numbered of it, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war,
Von den Söhnen Simeons entsprachen in ihren Geschlechtern, Sippen und Familien die Gemusterten unter schriftlicher Namensaufnahme, Kopf für Kopf, alles Männliche, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, alle Wehrpflichtigen,
23 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.

24 Of the sons of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

25 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

27 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Judah, were seventy-four thousand and six hundred.

39 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Dan, were sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.

41 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand and five hundred.

42 Of the sons of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,
Von den Söhnen Naphtalis entsprachen in ihren Geschlechtem, Sippen und Familien in Namenszählung von zwanzig Jahren und darüber alle Wehrpflichtigen,
43 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty-three thousand and four hundred.

44 These are those who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, and the rulers of Israel, being twelve men. They were each one for his fathers' house.
Dies sind die Ausgemusterten, die Moses und Aaron gemustert haben, sowie die Fürsten Israels, zwölf Mann, je einer für seine Familie.
45 So all those who were numbered of the sons of Israel by their fathers' houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel,
Alle, familienweise von zwanzig Jahren und darüber gemusterten Israeliten wurden sämtlich in Israel wehrpflichtig.
46 even all those who were numbered were six hundred three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
Aller Gemusterten waren es 603.550.
47 But the Levites according to the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
Die Leviten aber waren nach ihrem väterlichen Stamme nicht mit ihnen gemustert worden.
48 For Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
Der Herr hatte nämlich zu Moses gesagt:
49 Only the tribe of Levi thou shall not number, neither shall thou take the sum of them among the sons of Israel,
"Du darfst den Levitenstamm in keiner Weise mustern. Ihre Gesamtzahl sollst du bei Israels Söhnen nicht aufnehmen!
50 but appoint thou the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all the furniture of it, and over all that belongs to it. They shall bear the tabernacle, and all the furniture of it, and they shall minister to it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
Dagegen beauftrage du die Leviten über die Wohnung des Zeugnisses, über alle ihre Geräte und alles, was dazu gehört! Sie sollen die Wohnung und alle ihre Geräte tragen! Pflegen sollen sie diese! Darum sollen sie rings um die Wohnung lagern!
51 And when the tabernacle sets forward, the Levites shall take it down, and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up. And the stranger who comes near shall be put to death.
Setzt sich die Wohnung in Bewegung, dann sollen die Leviten sie auseinandernehmen, und lagert sich die Wohnung, dann sollen die Leviten sie erstellen! Ein Fremder, der hinzutritt, soll des Todes sterben!
52 And the sons of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their armies.
Die anderen Israeliten sollen lagern, jeder in seinem Lager und jeder bei seiner Fahne, nach ihren Scharen!
53 But the Levites shall encamp round about the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the sons of Israel. And the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.
Die Leviten aber sollen um die Wohnung des Zeugnisses lagern, daß kein Zorn über die israelitische Gemeinschaft komme! Darum sollen die Leviten die Wache an der Wohnung des Zeugnisses übernehmen!"
54 Thus did the sons of Israel. According to all that Jehovah commanded Moses, so they did.
Die Israeliten taten so. Genau so wie der Herr dem Moses geboten, also taten sie.
