Nahum 1
1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
Ĩno nĩyo ndũmĩrĩri nditũ ĩkoniĩ Nineve. Rĩĩrĩ nĩrĩo ibuku rĩa kĩoneki kĩa Nahumu, ũrĩa Mũelikoshi.
2 Jehovah is a jealous God and avenges. Jehovah avenges and is full of wrath. Jehovah takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserves wrath for his enemies.
Jehova nĩ Mũrungu ũrĩ ũiru na mwĩrĩhĩria; Jehova nĩerĩhagĩria na akaiyũrwo nĩ mangʼũrĩ. Jehova nĩerĩhagĩria harĩ thũ ciake, na agatũũria mangʼũrĩ make harĩ amuku ake.
3 Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means clear the guilty. Jehovah has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
Jehova ndahiũhaga kũrakara na nĩarĩ hinya mũnene; Jehova ndakaaga kũherithia mũndũ mwaganu. Njĩra yake ĩrĩ thĩinĩ wa rũhuho rũnene na thĩinĩ wa kĩhuhũkanio, matu namo nĩ rũkũngũ rwa makinya make.
4 He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan languishes, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languishes.
Akũũmaga iria, agatũma rĩhũe; ahũithagia njũũĩ ciothe. Bashani na Karimeli nĩkũhoohete, na kĩro kĩa Lebanoni gĩkaragatha.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is up heaved at his presence. Yea, the world, and all who dwell therein.
Irĩma ithingithaga mbere yake, natuo tũrĩma tũgatweka. Thĩ ĩinainaga ĩrĩ mbere yake, o na mabũrũri mothe makainaina, na arĩa othe matũũraga kuo.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? And who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by him.
Nũũ ũngĩĩtiiria mathirĩ make? Nũũ ũngĩkĩũmĩrĩria marakara make mahiũ? Mangʼũrĩ make-rĩ, maitĩkaga ta mwaki; ndwaro cia mahiga igathethereka mbere yake.
7 Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and he knows those who take refuge in him.
Jehova nĩ mwega, nĩ kĩĩhitho hĩndĩ ya thĩĩna. Arĩa mamwĩhokete-rĩ, nĩamamenyagĩrĩra,
8 But with an over running flood he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.
no rĩrĩ, nĩakaniina Nineve na kĩguũ kĩnene kĩa maaĩ; nĩakaingata thũ ciake nginya nduma-inĩ.
9 What do ye devise against Jehovah? He will make a full end. Affliction shall not rise up the second time.
Ũrĩa wothe magaaciirĩra gwĩka Jehova-rĩ, we nĩakaũniina; o na thĩĩna ndũgooka hĩndĩ ya keerĩ.
10 For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly as dry stubble.
Makaarigiicwo mĩigua-inĩ na marĩĩo nĩ ndibei yao; nao magaacinwo ta maragara momũ.
11 He has gone forth out of thee, who devises evil against Jehovah, who counsels wickedness.
Nĩ harĩ ũmwe wĩyumĩrĩtie thĩinĩ waku wee Nineve, ũrĩa ũthugundaga ũũru wa gũũkĩrĩra Jehova, na akaheanaga irĩra cia waganu.
12 Thus says Jehovah: Though they be in full strength, and likewise many, even so they shall be cut down. And he shall pass away. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
Jehova ekuuga atĩrĩ: “O na aakorwo marĩ na arata, na nĩ aingĩ mũno-rĩ, nĩmakaniinwo, meherio. O na aakorwo nĩngũnyariirĩte, wee Juda-rĩ, ndigacooka gũkũnyariira rĩngĩ.
13 And now I will break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds apart.
Na rĩrĩ, nĩnguunanga icooki rĩao riume ngingo-inĩ yaku, na nduange mĩnyororo ĩrĩa woheetwo nayo.”
14 And Jehovah has given commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown. Out of the house of thy gods I will cut off the graven image and the molten image. I will make thy grave, for thou are vile.
Jehova nĩarutĩte watho ũgũkoniĩ, wee Nineve, akoiga atĩrĩ, “Ndũkagĩa na njiaro cia gũtũũria rĩĩtwa rĩaku. Nĩngananga mĩhianano ĩyo mĩicũhie o na ĩyo ya gũtwekio ĩrĩa ĩrĩ kũu hekarũ ya ngai ciaku. Nĩngũhaarĩria mbĩrĩra yaku, nĩgũkorwo ũrĩ kĩndũ kĩũru biũ.”
15 Behold, upon the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep thy feasts, O Judah. Perform thy vows, for the wicked one shall no more pass through thee. He is utterly cut off.
Ta cũthĩrĩriai kũũrĩa irĩma-igũrũ, muone magũrũ ma mũndũ ũrĩa ũrarehe ũhoro mwega, ũrĩa wanagĩrĩra thayũ! Wee Juda-rĩ, kũngũĩra ciathĩ ciaku, na ũhingie mĩĩhĩtwa yaku. Andũ aaganu matigagũtharĩkĩra rĩngĩ, nĩgũkorwo nĩmakaniinwo biũ.
