Luke 16
1 And he also said to his disciples, There was a certain rich man who had a manager, and this man was accused to him as squandering things possessed by him.
੧ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਕੋਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਾਲ ਉਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
2 And having called him, he said to him, What is this I hear about thee? Render the account of thy management, for thou can no longer manage.
੨ਤਦ ਉਸ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਆਪਣੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ।
3 And the manager said within himself, What shall I do because my lord takes away the management from me? I am not able to dig. I am ashamed to beg.
੩ਉਸ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ, ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ੋਹਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਚਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਭੀਖ ਮੰਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
4 I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from the management they may receive me into their houses.
੪ਮੈਂ ਸਮਝ ਗਿਆ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੈਂ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਨ।
5 And having summoned each one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first, How much do thou owe to my lord?
੫ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਜ਼ਾਈ ਹੈ?
6 And he said, A hundred measures of olive oil. And he said to him, Receive thy document, and having sat down, quickly write fifty.
੬ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੌ ਮਣ ਤੇਲ, ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਖਾਤਾ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਮਣ ਲਿਖ।
7 Next he said to another, And how much do thou owe? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. And he says to him, Receive thy document, and write eighty.
੭ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ? ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਸੌ ਮਣ ਕਣਕ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਖਾਤਾ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਸੀ ਮਣ ਲਿਖ।
8 And his lord commended the unrighteous manager because he did shrewdly. Because the sons of this age are shrewder in their own generation than the sons of the light. (aiōn g165)
੮ਤਦ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਬੇਈਮਾਨ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਜੁੱਗ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਨਣ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚਲਾਕ ਹਨ। (aiōn g165)
9 And I say to you, make friends for yourselves from the mammon of unrighteousness, so that, when ye cease, they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. (aiōnios g166)
੯ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਓ ਤਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਨ। (aiōnios g166)
10 The man faithful in the least is faithful also in much, and the man unrighteous in the least is unrighteous also in much.
੧੦ਜੋ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਤੋਂ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਤੋਂ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਈਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਬੇਈਮਾਨ ਹੈ।
11 If therefore ye did not become faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you what is true?
੧੧ਸੋ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੁਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਧਨ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਸੌਂਪੇਗਾ?।
12 And if ye did not become faithful in the alien, who will give thine to you?
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਾਏ ਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਕੌਣ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ?
13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
੧੩ਕੋਈ ਨੌਕਰ ਦੋ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ, ਜਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਾਣੇਗਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
14 And the Pharisees, being lovers of money, heard all these things, and they sneered him.
੧੪ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਜੋ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਸਨ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।
15 And he said to them, Ye are those who declare yourselves righteous in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. Because what is lofty among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
੧੫ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹੋ ਹੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੀ ਹੈ।
16 The law and the prophets were until John. From that time the kingdom of God is proclaimed good news, and every man in it is treated aggressively.
੧੬ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਤੱਕ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
17 But it is easier for the heaven and the earth to pass away, than for one tittle of the law to fall.
੧੭ਪਰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਟਲ ਜਾਣਾ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਬਿੰਦੀ ਦੇ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਸਾਨ ਹੈ।
18 Every man who divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery, and every man who marries her who has been divorced from a husband commits adultery.
੧੮ਹਰੇਕ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
19 Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, faring sumptuously daily.
੧੯ਇੱਕ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਬੈਂਗਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਲਮਲ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
20 But there was a certain poor man named Lazarus, who had been placed near his gate, covered with sores,
੨੦ਅਤੇ ਲਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗਰੀਬ, ਫੋੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
21 and longing to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table. But even the dogs that came licked his sores.
੨੧ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਟੁੱਕੜੇ ਉਸ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਡਿੱਗਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਢਿੱਡ ਭਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫੋੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਟਦੇ ਸਨ।
22 And it came to pass for the poor man to die and be carried by the agents to Abraham's bosom. And the rich man also died and was buried.
੨੨ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਗਰੀਬ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਵੀ ਮਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਬਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
23 And having lifted up his eyes in Hades, being in torments, he sees Abraham from afar and Lazarus by his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
੨੩ਅਤੇ ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਲਾਜ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਿਆ। (Hadēs g86)
24 And having cried out, he said, Father Abraham, be merciful to me, and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this flame.
੨੪ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਜ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਦਾ ਪੋਟਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁਬੋ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਠੰਡੀ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੜਫ਼ਦਾ ਹਾਂ!
25 But Abraham said, Child, remember that thou in thy lifetime received thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things. But now here he is comforted and thou are in agony.
੨੫ਪਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਬੇਟਾ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਪਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਾਜ਼ਰ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਇੱਥੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਤੜਫਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
26 And besides all these things, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that those here who want to cross over to you are not able, nor may those go across from there to us.
੨੬ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਖੱਡ ਪਈ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਐਥੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਪਾਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ, ਨਾ ਉਧਰੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਇਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਆ ਸਕੇ।
27 And he said, I beg thee therefore, father, that thou would send him to my father's house,
੨੭ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਿੰਨਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲਾਜ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਭੇਜੋ।
28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
੨੮ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜ ਭਰਾ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਆਉਣ।
29 But Abraham says to him, They have Moses and the prophets. Let them hear them.
੨੯ਪਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਨ।
30 And he said, No, father Abraham, but if some man would go to them from the dead they will repent.
੩੦ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਨਾ ਜੀ, ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੋਬਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
31 And he said to him, If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if some man would rise from the dead.
੩੧ਤਦ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਜੇ ਉਹ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਜੀ ਉੱਠੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਣਗੇ।
