Leviticus 12

1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

Yavé habló a Moisés:

2 Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, If a woman conceives seed, and bears a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days, as in the days of the impurity of her sickness she shall be unclean.

Habla a los hijos de Israel: Cuando una mujer dé a luz un varón, quedará impura por siete días. Será impura como en los días de su menstruación.

3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Al octavo día el prepucio de su hijo será circuncidado.

4 And she shall continue in the blood of her purifying thirty-three days. She shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.

Ella permanecerá 33 días en la purificación de su sangre. Nada que sea santo tocará, ni irá al Santuario hasta que se cumplan los días de su purificación.

5 But if she bears a maid-child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity, and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying sixty-six days.

Pero si da a luz una hembra, entonces estará impura dos semanas, como en su menstruación, y permanecerá 66 días en la purificación de su sangre.

6 And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb a year old for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtle-dove, for a sin offering, to the door of the tent of meeting, to the priest.

Cuando se cumplan los días de su purificación, por hijo o por hija, llevará un cordero añal al sacerdote para el holocausto a la entrada del Tabernáculo de Reunión, y un pichón de paloma o una tórtola como sacrificio por el pecado.

7 And he shall offer it before Jehovah, and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the law for her who bears, whether a male or a female.

Él lo presentará delante de Yavé y hará sacrificio que apacigua por ella para purificarla del flujo de su sangre. Esta es la Ley sobre la que da a luz un varón o una hembra.

8 And if her means are not sufficient for a lamb, then she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, the one for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering. And the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

Si no tiene suficiente para un cordero, tomará entonces dos tórtolas o dos palominos, uno para el holocausto y otro para el sacrificio por el pecado. El sacerdote hará sacrificio que apacigua por ella, y quedará limpia.
