Lamentations 3
1 I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
| من کسی هستم که از خشم و غضب خدا مصیبتها دیده‌ام. |
2 He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
| خدا مرا به اعماق تاریکی کشانده است. |
3 Surely he turns his hand against me, again and again all the day.
| او بر ضد من برخاسته و دستش تمام روز بر من بلند است. |
4 He has made my flesh and my skin old. He has broken my bones.
| او گوشت و پوست بدنم را فرسوده و استخوانهایم را شکسته است. |
5 He has built against me, and encompassed me with gall and travail.
| جان مرا با تلخی و مشقت پوشانده است. |
6 He has made me to dwell in dark places, as those who have long been dead.
| مرا مانند کسی که سالهاست مرده، در تاریکی نشانده است. |
7 He has walled me around, that I cannot go forth. He has made my chain heavy.
| با زنجیرهای سنگین مرا بسته و دورم را حصار کشیده است تا نتوانم فرار کنم. |
8 Yea, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
| فریاد برمی‌آورم و کمک می‌طلبم، ولی او به دادم نمی‌رسد. |
9 He has walled up my ways with hewn stone. He has made my paths crooked.
| با دیوارهای سنگی راه مرا بسته است و طریق مرا پر پیچ و خم نموده است. |
10 He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in concealed places.
| او همچون خرسی در کمین من نشست و مانند شیر بر من هجوم آورد؛ |
11 He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces. He has made me desolate.
| مرا از راهم بیرون کشیده، پاره‌پاره‌ام کرد و تنها و بی‌کس رهایم ساخت. |
12 He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
| او کمانش را کشید و مرا هدف قرار داد، |
13 He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.
| و تیرهایش به اعماق قلبم فرو رفت. |
14 I have become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.
| مردم تمام روز به من می‌خندند و مرا مسخره می‌کنند. |
15 He has filled me with bitterness. He has sated me with wormwood.
| او زندگی را به کامم تلخ کرده است. |
16 He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones. He has covered me with ashes.
| صورتم را به خاک مالیده است و دهانم را از سنگریزه پر کرده و دندانهایم را شکسته است. |
17 And thou have removed my soul far off from peace. I forgot prosperity.
| آسایش و سعادت از من رخت بربسته است. |
18 And I said, My strength is perished, and my expectation from Jehovah.
| رمق و امیدی برایم نمانده، زیرا خداوند مرا ترک گفته است. |
19 Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
| وقتی مصیبت و سرگردانی خود را به یاد می‌آورم، جانم تلخ می‌گردد. |
20 My soul still has them in remembrance, and is bowed down within me.
| بله، آنها را دائم به یاد می‌آورم و وجودم پریشان می‌شود. |
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope:
| اما نور امیدی بر قلبم می‌تابد، وقتی به یاد می‌آورم که |
22 It is of Jehovah's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassions do not fail.
| محبت خداوند بی‌انتهاست و رحمت او بی‌زوال. |
23 They are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness.
| وفاداری خدا عظیم است و رحمت او هر بامداد از نو آغاز می‌شود. |
24 Jehovah is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will hope in him.
| به خود می‌گویم: «من فقط خداوند را دارم، پس به او امید خواهم بست.» |
25 Jehovah is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
| خداوند برای کسانی که به او توکل دارند و او را می‌طلبند نیکوست. |
26 It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.
| پس خوبست که چشم امیدمان به او باشد و با صبر منتظر باشیم تا خداوند ما را نجات دهد. |
27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
| خوب است انسان در جوانی بیاموزد که سختیها را تحمل کند. |
28 Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he has laid it upon him.
| هنگامی که او دچار مصیبت می‌گردد بهتر آنست که در سکوت و تنهایی بنشیند |
29 Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.
| و در برابر خداوند سر تعظیم فرود آورد، زیرا ممکن است امیدی باشد. |
30 Let him give his cheek to him who smites him. Let him be filled full with reproach.
| وقتی او را می‌زنند و اهانت می‌کنند خوب است آنها را تحمل کند، |
31 For the Lord will not cast off forever.
| زیرا خداوند تا ابد او را ترک نخواهد کرد. |
32 For though he causes grief, yet he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
| هر چند خدا کسی را اندوهگین کند، اما رحمتش شامل حال او خواهد شد، زیرا محبت او عظیم است. |
33 For he does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the sons of men.
| او از آزردن و غمگین ساختن انسان خشنود نمی‌گردد. |
34 To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
| هنگامی که ستمدیدگان جهان زیر پا له می‌شوند، |
35 to turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
| و زمانی که حق انسانی که خدای متعال آن را به وی داده است، پایمال می‌گردد، |
36 to subvert a man in his cause, the Lord does not approve.
| و هنگامی که مظلومی در دادگاه محکوم می‌شود، آیا خداوند اینها را نمی‌بیند؟ |
37 Who is he that says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord does not command it?
| کیست که بتواند بدون اجازهٔ خداوند چیزی بگوید و واقع شود؟ |
38 Out of the mouth of the Most High does there not come evil and good?
| آیا هم مصیبت و هم برکت از جانب خدای متعال نازل نمی‌شود؟ |
39 Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
| پس چرا وقتی ما انسانهای فانی به سبب گناهانمان تنبیه می‌شویم، گله و شکایت می‌کنیم؟ |
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.
| به جای گله و شکایت بیایید کردار خود را بسنجیم و بیازماییم و به سوی خداوند بازگردیم. |
41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens.
| بیایید قلبهای خود را برای خدایی که در آسمان است بگشاییم و دستهای خود را به سوی او برافرازیم و بگوییم: |
42 We have transgressed and have rebelled. Thou have not pardoned.
| «ما گناه کرده‌ایم و سرکش شده‌ایم، و تو ما را نیامرزیده‌ای. |
43 Thou have covered with anger and pursued us. Thou have slain; thou have not pitied.
| «به هنگام خشم خود ما را تعقیب نموده و هلاک کرده‌ای و رحم ننموده‌ای. |
44 Thou have covered thyself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.
| خود را با ابر پوشانیده‌ای تا دعاهای ما به حضور تو نرسد. |
45 Thou have made us an off-scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
| ما را مثل خاکروبه و زباله به میان قومها انداخته‌ای. |
46 All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.
| تمام دشمنانمان به ما توهین می‌کنند. |
47 Fear and the pit have come upon us, devastation and destruction.
| خرابی و نابودی دامنگیر ما شده و در ترس و خطر زندگی می‌کنیم.» |
48 My eye runs down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
| به سبب نابودی قومم، روز و شب سیل اشک از چشمانم جاریست. آنقدر خواهم گریست |
49 My eye pours down, and does not cease, without any intermission,
50 till Jehovah looks down, and beholds from heaven.
| تا خداوند از آسمان نظر کند و پاسخ دهد! |
51 My eye stirs my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
| هنگامی که می‌بینم چه بر سر مردم اورشلیم آمده است، دلم از اندوه پر می‌شود. |
52 They have chased me grievously like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.
| کسانی که هرگز آزارشان نداده بودم، دشمن من شدند و مرا همچون پرنده‌ای به دام انداختند. |
53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone upon me.
| آنها مرا در چاه افکندند و سر چاه را با سنگ پوشاندند. |
54 Waters flowed over my head. I said, I am cut off.
| آب از سرم گذشت و فکر کردم مرگم حتمی است. |
55 I called upon thy name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest dungeon.
| اما ای خداوند، وقتی از عمق چاه نام تو را خواندم |
56 Thou heard my voice. Hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
| صدایم را شنیدی و به ناله‌هایم توجه کردی. |
57 Thou drew near in the day that I called upon thee. Thou said, Fear not.
| آری، هنگامی که تو را خواندم به کمکم آمدی و گفتی: «نترس!» |
58 O Lord, thou have pleaded the causes of my soul. Thou have redeemed my life.
| ای خداوند، تو به دادم رسیدی و جانم را از مرگ رهایی بخشیدی. |
59 O Jehovah, thou have seen my wrong. Judge thou my cause.
| ای خداوند، تو ظلمی را که به من کرده‌اند دیده‌ای، پس داوری کن و داد مرا بستان. |
60 Thou have seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.
| دیده‌ای که چگونه ایشان دشمن من شده و توطئه‌ها بر ضد من چیده‌اند. |
61 Thou have heard their reproach, O Jehovah, and all their devices against me,
| ای خداوند، تو شنیده‌ای که چگونه به من اهانت کرده و علیه من نقشه کشیده‌اند. |
62 the lips of those who rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
| تو از تمام آنچه که مخالفانم هر روز درباره من می‌گویند و نقشه‌هایی که می‌کشند باخبری. |
63 Behold thou their sitting down, and their rising up. I am their song.
| ببین چگونه می‌خندند و شب و روز مرا مسخره می‌کنند. |
64 Thou will render to them a recompense, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands.
| ای خداوند، ایشان را به سزای اعمالشان برسان. |
65 Thou will give them hardness of heart, thy curse to them.
| ایشان را لعنت کن تا غم و تاریکی وجودشان را فرا گیرد. |
66 Thou will pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Jehovah.
| با خشم و غضب آنها را تعقیب کن و از روی زمین محو و نابود گردان. |
