< Jude 1 >

1 Jude, a bondman of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to the called, sanctified in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:
Iudas Iesu Christi servus, frater autem Iacobi, his, qui sunt in Deo Patre dilectis, et Christo Iesu conservatis, et vocatis.
2 Mercy to you and peace and love be multiplied.
Misericordia vobis, et pax, et charitas adimpleatur.
3 Beloved, making all diligence to write to you about the common salvation, I had need to write to you exhorting you to earnestly contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the sanctified.
Charissimi, omnem solicitudinem faciens scribendi vobis de communi vestra salute, necesse habui scribere vobis: deprecans supercertari semel traditæ sanctis fidei.
4 For certain men have sneaked in, those written about formerly for this condemnation, irreverent men, perverting the grace of our God into licentiousness, and denying our only Master God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Subintroierunt enim quidam homines (qui olim præscripti sunt in hoc iudicium) impii, Dei nostri gratiam transferentes in luxuriam, et solum Dominatorem, et Dominum nostrum Iesum Christum negantes.
5 Now I want to remind you, ye having known this once, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
Commonere autem vos volo, scientes semel omnia, quoniam Iesus populum de terra Ægypti salvans, secundo eos, qui non crediderunt, perdidit:
6 And the agents who did not keep their own principality, but left their own habitation, he has kept reserved in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day. (aïdios g126)
Angelos vero, qui non servaverunt suum principatum, sed dereliquerunt suum domicilium, in iudicium magni diei, vinculis æternis sub caligine reservavit. (aïdios g126)
7 As Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, the same kind of way with these who indulged in fornication, and who went rear of queer flesh, are set forth an example, undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. (aiōnios g166)
Sicut Sodoma, et Gomorrha, et finitimæ civitates simili modo exfornicatæ, et abeuntes post carnem alteram, factæ sunt exemplum, ignis æterni pœnam sustinentes. (aiōnios g166)
8 Nevertheless in the same way also these men who dream, indeed defile flesh, and reject lordship, and speak evil of dignities.
Similiter et hi carnem quidem maculant, dominationem autem spernunt, maiestatem autem blasphemant.
9 But Michael the arch-agent, when he disputed with the devil, contending about the body of Moses, dared not bring a railing judgment, but said, May the Lord rebuke thee.
Cum Michael Archangelus cum diabolo disputans altercaretur de Moysi corpore, non est ausus iudicium inferre blasphemiæ: sed dixit: Imperet tibi Dominus.
10 But these men indeed revile whatever they have not seen. But whatever they understand naturally, as the irrational beasts, in these things they are corrupted.
Hi autem quæcumque quidem ignorant, blasphemant: quæcumque autem naturaliter, tamquam muta animalia, norunt, in his corrumpuntur.
11 Woe to them! Because they went in the way of Cain, and rushed to the error of Balaam's reward, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
Væ illis, quia in via Cain abierunt, et errore Balaam mercede effusi sunt, et in contradictione Core perierunt:
12 These are reefs in your love-feasts, feasting together, fearlessly tending to themselves, waterless clouds carried along by winds, autumn trees without fruit, who died twice having being uprooted,
Hi sunt in epulis suis maculæ, convivantes sine timore, semetipsos pascentes, nubes sine aqua, quæ a ventis circumferentur, arbores autumnales, infructuosæ, bis mortuæ, eradicatæ,
13 wild waves of the sea foaming out their own shame, wandering stars for whom the gloom of darkness has been reserved into an age. (aiōn g165)
fluctus feri maris, despumantes suas confusiones, sidera errantia: quibus procella tenebrarum servata est in æternum. (aiōn g165)
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men, saying, Behold, the Lord came with his holy myriads,
Prophetavit autem et de his septimus ab Adam Enoch, dicens: Ecce venit Dominus in sanctis millibus suis
15 to execute judgment against all, and to convict all the irreverent of them about all the works of their own irreverence that they have done irreverently, and about all the harsh things that irreverent sinners spoke against him.
facere iudicium contra omnes, et arguere omnes impios de omnibus operibus impietatis eorum, quibus impie egerunt, et de omnibus duris, quæ locuti sunt contra Deum peccatores impii.
16 These are grumblers, fault-finders, going according to their lusts, and their mouth speaks overblown things, marveling personages for the sake of advantage.
Hi sunt murmuratores querulosi, secundum desideria sua ambulantes, et os eorum loquitur superba, mirantes personas quæstus causa.
17 But ye, beloved, remember the sayings previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Vos autem charissimi memores estote verborum, quæ prædicta sunt ab Apostolis Domini nostri Iesu Christi,
18 that they told you that there will be scoffers during the last time, going according to their own desires of irreverences.
qui dicebant vobis, quoniam in novissimo tempore venient illusores, secundum desideria sua ambulantes in impietatibus.
19 These are those who make divisions, world-soul men, not having Spirit.
Hi sunt, qui segregant semetipsos, animales, Spiritum non habentes.
20 But ye beloved, building up yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
Vos autem charissimi superædificantes vosmetipsos sanctissimæ vestræ fidei, in Spiritu sancto orantes,
21 keep yourselves in the love of God, awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
vosmetipsos in dilectione Dei servate, expectantes misericordiam Domini nostri Iesu Christi in vitam æternam. (aiōnios g166)
22 And on some be ye merciful-being discerning.
Et hos quidem arguite iudicatos:
23 And in fear save some, snatching them out of the fire, hating even the garment that was stained by the flesh.
illos vero salvate, de igne rapientes. Aliis autem miseremini in timore: odientes et eam, quæ carnalis est, maculatam tunicam.
24 Now to him who is able to keep them non-stumbling, and to present before his glory, unblemished in gladness,
Ei autem, qui potens est vos conservare sine peccato, et constituere ante conspectum gloriæ suæ immaculatos in exultatione in adventu Domini nostri Iesu Christi.
25 to the only wise God our Savior, is glory, majesty, dominion and power, both now and into all the ages. Truly. (aiōn g165)
Soli Deo Salvatori nostro, per Iesum Christum Dominum nostrum, gloria et magnificentia, imperium et potestas ante omne sæculum, et nunc, et in omnia sæcula sæculorum. Amen. (aiōn g165)
