< Jonah 4 >
1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was angry.
Ngem kasla saan nga umno daytoy kenni Jonas, ket kasta unay ti ungetna.
2 And he prayed to Jehovah, and said, I pray thee, O Jehovah, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I hastened to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that thou are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relent thee of the evil.
Isu a nagkararag kenni Yahweh ket kinunana, “Ah, Yahweh, saan kadi a daytoy ti kas imbagak kenka idi addaak iti bukodko a pagilian? Isu't gapuna a nagtignayak nga immuna ket pinadasko ti immadayo a napan idiay Tarsis—gapu ta ammok a naparaburka a Dios, manangngaasi, saan a nalaka a makaunget, napnoan ti kinapudno ket baliwam ti pangngeddengmo a mangibaon iti didigra.
3 Therefore now, O Jehovah, I beseech thee, take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.
Ita ngarud, Yahweh, agpakpakaasiak kenka, alaemon ti biagko, ta nasaysayaat a matayak ngem ti agbiag.”
4 And Jehovah said, Do thou well to be angry?
Kinuna ni Yahweh, “Nasayaat kadi a makaungetka?”
5 Then Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made himself a booth, and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city.
Ket rimmuar ni Jonas iti siudad ken nagtugaw iti akindaya a paset daytoy. Nangaramid isuna iti paglinongan sadiay ket nagtugaw iti sirok daytoy tapno makitana ti mabalin a mapasamak iti siudad.
6 And Jehovah God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shade over his head, to deliver him from his misery. So Jonah was very glad because of the gourd.
Nangisagana ni Yahweh a Dios iti mula ket pinadakkelna daytoy a dimmanon iti ngatoen ni Jonas tapno malinongan ti ulona ket mabang-aran. Naragsakan unay ni Jonas gapu iti mula.
7 But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd, that it withered.
Ngem nangisagana ti Dios iti igges idi sumingising ti init iti kabigatanna. Kinibkibanna ti mula ket nalaylay.
8 And it came to pass, when the sun arose, that God prepared a sultry east wind, and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.
Ket napasamak, idi simmingising ti init iti kabigatanna, nangisagana ti Dios iti napudot nga angin manipud iti daya. Kasta met a nainitan ti ulo ni Jonas ket kimmapsut. Ket tinarigagayan ni Jonas a matay isunan. Kinunana iti bagina, “Nasaysayaat a matayak ngem ti agbiag.”
9 And God said to Jonah, Do thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even to death.
Ket kinuna ti Dios kenni Jonas, “Nasayaat kadi a makaungetka maipanggep iti mula?” Ket kinuna ni Jonas, “Nasayaat a makaungetak, uray pakatayak.”
10 And Jehovah said, Thou have had regard for the gourd, for which thou have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night, and perished in a night.
Kinuna ni Yahweh, “Maasianka iti mula, a saanmo a nagbannogan wenno pinadakkel. Nagtubo daytoy iti rabii ken natay iti sumaruno a rabii.
11 And should not I have regard for Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand men who cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand, and also much cattle?
Isu a para kaniak, saan kadi a rumbeng a kaasiak ti Nineve, ti dakkel a siudad, nga addaan iti nasurok a sangagasut ket duapulo a ribu a tattao a saan a makaammo iti nagdumaan ti kannawan ken kannigid nga imada, ken kasta met dagiti adu a tarakenda?”
