< John 8 >

1 But Jesus went to the mount of Olives.
Yeshua chu Olive lhang lam'a akile kittai.
2 And at early morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him. And having sat down, he taught them.
Ahivangin ajing jingkah matah in ama Houin'ah ahungkit in ahi. Chuin hetman louvin, mihonpi khat aheng'a ahung kikhom'un ama atouvin, amaho chu thu ahiltan ahi.
3 And the scholars and the Pharisees bring to him a woman taken in adultery. And having stood her in the midst,
Hitia athuhil laitah chun, Danthu them hole Pharisee hon, ajonpet tah'a kiman numei khat ahin kaiyun, mipi lailunga chun adinsah'un ahi.
4 tempting, they say to him, Teacher, we found this woman committing adultery, in the act.
Hichun amahon Yeshua jah'a, “Houhil hiche numei hi ajon pettah'a kiman ahi.
5 Now in the law, Moses commanded us such women are to be stoned. What therefore do thou say about her?
Hijeh chun Mose danthu peh dungjui in, amanu hi songa selih ding ahi, nangman ipi nagel em?” atiuve.
6 But they said this, trying him, so that they might have an accusation against him. But Jesus having stooped down, wrote on the ground with his finger, not pretending.
Hichu ama hehset na thei ding ikhat beh aseidoh khat leh tia thangkam peh ahiuve; ahivangin Yeshua akun'in ima seilouvin akhut jungin tol chu ajih in ahi.
7 And when they continued asking him, after standing erect, he said to them, Let the innocent man of you first cast the stone at her.
Hichun amahon Yeshua chun adonbut teidinga ano jeh'un Yeshua ading doh in ajah'uva, “Aphai nalah uva chonset bolkhalou hel pen penin amanu chu songin sep masa hen,” ati.
8 And again having stooped down, he wrote on the ground.
Chuin ama akun'in tol chu ajih kit in ahi.
9 And they, having heard and being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, having begun from the elder until the last. And Jesus was left behind alone, and the woman being in the midst.
Chuin amahon hichu ajah phat'un, atehpen'a pat aneopen geiyin ama ho khat khat in achemang gamtauvin, mihonpi lailunga chun Yeshua changseh leh numeinu bou adalha tauvin ahi.
10 And Jesus, after standing erect, and having seen no man but the woman, he said to her, Woman, where are those accusers of thee? Did no man condemn thee?
Hichun Yeshua adingdoh in amanu jah'a, “Nahinkai ho hoilam gei hitauvem? Koiman themmo nachan lou hitam?” ati.
11 And she said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I condemn thee. Go, and henceforth sin no more.
Hichun amanun, “Pakai koiman themmo eichan tapoi,” ati. Hichun Yeshuan amanu jah'a, “Keiman jong themmo kachan poi chetan, ahin tukal chonsekit tahih'in,” ati.
12 Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows me would, no, not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.
Chuin Yeshuan avelin miho jah'a, “Keima vannoi Vah kahi, kanung najui uleh nangho muthim'a vahle lou nahi tauve, ajeh chu nanghon hinna vah chu naneiyu ahitai,” ati.
13 The Pharisees therefore said to him, Thou testify about thyself. Thy testimony is not valid.
Hichun Pharisee hon adonbut'un, “Na chungthu nangma tah in na hettoh sah chu hettoh sah dih ahipoi,” atiuve.
14 Jesus answered and said to them, Even if I might testify about myself, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I go, but ye do not know where I come from and where I go.
Hichun Yeshuan ajah'uva, “Kachungthu keima tah'in kahet tohsah hi, hettoh sah dihtah ahi. Ajeh chu keiman kahung kona leh kajot na ding kakihet in, ahivangin hichu nanghon nahe pouve.”
15 Ye judge according to the flesh. I judge no man.
Chule nanghon tahsa mihem hina dol'in ka chungthu natan'un, keiman vang koima chungthu chuti chun katan jipoi.
16 But even if I judge, my judgment is valid, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent me.
Ijemtia thutanna kabol tah jongle, kathu tan jouse abon'a dihtah ahi; ajeh chu keima kachang kahipon, eihinsol'a Kapa toh kahilhon'e.
17 And also it is written in your law that the testimony of two men is valid.
Ajeh chu nangho danthu dungjui in minin kitoh tah'a ahettoh sah leh hichu hettoh sah dihtah'a kipom ahi.
18 I am he who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me.
Hijeh chun, keima tah hettoh sah khat kahin, chuleh eihinsol'a kapa chu hettohsah adang khat chu ahi.
19 They said therefore to him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye know neither me, nor my Father. If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also.
Hichun amahon adong'un, “Napa hoiya umham?” atiuve, Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Nanghon keima neihe pouve, kapa jong nahe pouve, keima neihe leu chun kapa jong nahet diu ahi,” ati.
20 Jesus spoke these sayings in the treasury as he taught in the temple, and no man seized him, because his hour had not yet come.
Hicheng jouse chu, Yeshuan Houin sunga sumkhol na kiti mun'a athuhil pet'a asei ahi. Ahivangin anikho alhin jep loulai jeh in, koiman ama chu amanpoi.
21 Jesus therefore again said to them, I go, and ye will seek me, and ye will die in your sin. Where I go, ye cannot come.
Chujouvin Yeshuan avel in ajah'uva, “Keima kache mang ding ahi, nangho kache na-a nahung thei pouve, ajeh chu na chonset nau chu nathipi ding'u ahi,” ati.
22 The Jews therefore said, Will he kill himself, because he says, Where I go, ye cannot come?
Hichun miho chu akidong touvin, “Hiche pa hi ama leh ama kithat go khat ham? Chuleh kache na-a nangho nahung thei pouve ati hi ipi aseina ahidem?” atiuve.
23 And he said to them, Ye are from below, I am from above. Ye are of this world, I am not of this world.
Chuin Yeshuan avel in ajah'uva, “Nangho noiya kon nahiuvin, keima chunga kon kahi, chuleh nangho hiche vannoiya um nahiuvin, keima kahipoi.
24 I said therefore to you that ye will die in your sins. For unless ye believe that I am he, ye will die in your sins.
Hiche jeh a chu najah'uva kasei ahi, nanghon keima koi kahi kahet tohsah hi natahsan lou uleh, na chonset nau chu nathipi teiding'u ahi,” ati.
25 They said therefore to him, Who are thou? And Jesus said to them, The beginning, something that I am even telling you.
Hichun amahon adong'un, Nang koi nahim? atiuve, Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Keima ama chu kahi tia kaseijing tah chula em,” ati.
26 I have many things to say and to judge about you. But he who sent me is true, and I speak to the world these things that I heard from him.
“Keiman nangho chunga demna dingleh sei ding adim'in kaneiye, ahivangin seipong e; ajeh chu keima eisolpa chu thudihtah ahin, ama-a kon'a kajah ho bou kasei ahi.”
27 They did not understand that he spoke the Father to them.
Ahivangin Yeshuan hiche asei chu, Pa thudol aseina ahiti amahon ahedoh thei deh pouve.
28 Jesus therefore said to them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then ye will know that I am he, and I do nothing from myself, but I speak these things as my Father taught me.
Hiche jeh chun, Yeshuan ajah'uva, “Nanghon Mihem Chapa chu thingpel a nadop sang teng'u leh ama chu keima tah kahi nahet dingu ahi, ajeh chu keiman kacham'a imacha kabolpoi, Pa chun eihil ho bou kasei ahi.
29 And he who sent me is with me. The Father has not left me alone, because I always do things pleasing to him.
Chuleh keima eisolpa chun ei umpi jinge, aman kachangin eidalha poi, ajeh chu keiman phat jousen ama lunglhai na bou kabol jin ahi,” ati.
30 As he spoke these things of him, many believed in him.
Chuin mitam tah in thu hicheng asei chu ajah phat'un, ama chu atahsan tauve.
31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews who believed him, If ye remain in my word, ye are truly my disciples,
Hichun Yeshuan ama tahsan ho henga chun, “Nangho kathuhil'a hi kitah tah'a na umjing'u leh nangho kaseijui tahbeh nahiuve.
32 and ye will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.
Chuleh nanghon thutah chu heuvin natin, chuteng thutah chun nacham lhat sah dingu ahi,” ati.
33 They answered to him, We are Abraham's seed, and have been in bondage to no man, ever. How can thou say, Ye will become free?
Hichun amahon, ajah'a, “Keiho vang Abraham son leh pah kahiuve, keiho imatih in koima soh'in ka um khapouve; nangho nacham lhat sah ding'u nati chu ipi naseina ham?” atiuvin ahi.
34 Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, that every man who does the sin is a bondman of the sin.
Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Keiman atahbeh chu kaseipeh nahiuve, koi hileh chonset bol jinga chu chonset soh ahi.”
35 And the bondman does not remain in the house into the age. The Son remains into the age. (aiōn g165)
Chuleh soh chu insungmi tahtah ahiden thei poi, ahin chapa vang chu a itih'a insungmi dihtah ahijinge. (aiōn g165)
36 If therefore the Son should make you free, ye will truly be free.
Hijeh chun, Chapa chun nangho nalha-ong'uva ahileh nangho achamlhat tahbeh nahiu ahitai.
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed, yet ye seek to kill me, because my word has no place in you.
Adih e, nangho Abraham son leh pah nahiu kahenai; ahivangin nanghon keima tha ding neigo jing'uve, ajeh chu nalung sung uva kathu hil hi alutpoi.
38 I speak what I have seen from my Father, and ye therefore do what ye have seen from your father.
Chuleh keiman kapa koma kamu chengse nangho kaseipeh nahiuve, ahivangin nanghon napau thumop bou najuiuve.
39 They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus says to them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Ama hon adonbut'un, “Kapau chu Abraham ahi,” atiuve, hichun Yeshuan ajah'uva, “Ahipoi,” nangho Abraham chate hileu chun, ama thilbol nung najui dingu ahi.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.
Ahinlah keiman Pathen'a kon'a kajah thutah cheng nangho kaseipeh jeh'un, nanghon keima tha ding neigo jinguve, Abraham chun imatih chan in chutobang thil abolpoi.
41 Ye do the works of your father. They said therefore to him, We were not begotten from fornication. We have one Father, God.
“Nanghon napau dihtah adang khat umchan najui'u ahibouve,” ati. Hichun amahon adonbut'un, “Keiho jaocha kahipouve, Pathen amatah chu kapau dihtah ahi,” atiuve.
42 Therefore Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, ye would love me, for I came forth and have come from God. For, neither have I come for myself, but he sent me.
Hichun Yeshuan ajah'uva, “Pathen chu napau ahileh nanghon keima nei ngailut dingu ahi. Ajeh chu keima Pathen'a kon hung kipan kahi. Keima kacham'a hung kahipoi, aman eihin sol ahibouve.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? Because ye cannot hear my word.
Chuleh nanghon ibol'a kathusei nahet thei lou'u ham? hiche hi nanghon kathu sei nangailou jeh'u ahi.
44 Ye are from the father, the devil, and ye want to do the desires of your father. He was a man-killer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, because he is a liar, and the father of it.
Nangho napau Satan chate nahi jeh'un, ama thilbol aphalou ho bol ding nanomui, ama chu atil'a pat'a tolthat ahin, ama-a thutah'a umlou jeh chun, phat jousen aman thutah ahot in ahi; aman jou asei chu achonna'a behden ahitai, ajeh chu ama mijou ahin, jou kondon na pa ahi.
45 And I, because I speak the truth, ye do not believe me.
Hijeh a chu keiman nangho thutah kasei peh'u jongleh nanghon keima neitahsan theilou'u ahi.
46 Which of you convicts me about sin? And if I speak truth, why do ye not believe me?
Chuleh nangho koipen in hettohsah kichehtah'a mi chonse kahina nei ngoh thei uvem? Achutileh na henguva keiman thutah kasei ahi, ibol'a neitahsan lou'u ham?
47 He who is of God hears the sayings of God. Because of this ye do not hear, because ye are not of God.
Hijeh chun koi hileh Pathen'a hiho chun kipah tah in Pathen thu angaiyun ahi; ahivangin nangho Pathen'a nahilou jeh'un athu na ngaipouve,” ati.
48 Therefore the Jews answered and said to him, Do we not say well that thou are a Samaritan, and have a demon?
Chuin amahon ajah'a, “Nangma Samaria mi nahin, thilha vop nahi tia kana seijingu hita lou ham?” atiuve.
49 Jesus answered, I have no demon, but I honor my Father, and ye dishonor me.
Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Kahipoi, keima thilhavop kahipoi, ajeh chu keiman kapa kajabol ahin, nanghon keima neija bol pouve.
50 But I seek not my own glory. He is who seeks and judges.
Ahivangin, keiman keima chang kichoi-at kaholpoi, Pathen in keima eichoi sang dingbou ahi; ajeh chu ama thutan dihtah ahi.
51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if any man keeps my word, he will, no, not see death, into the age. (aiōn g165)
Chule keiman nangho atahbeh chu kaseipeh nahiuve, koi hileh kathuhil ngaiya bol'a chu a itih'a thi lou ding ahi,” ati. (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews therefore said to him, Now we know that thou have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets, and thou say, If any man keeps my word, he will, no, not taste of death, into the age. (aiōn g165)
Chuin amahon ajah'a, “Thilhavop nahi kahe tauve, Abraham leh themgao ho athigam tauvin, ahivangin nangman kathuhil nit'a chu a itih'a thilou ding ahi, nati. (aiōn g165)
53 Are thou greater than our father Abraham who died? And the prophets died. Who do thou make thyself?
Chule kapau Abraham sang'a chungnung jo nahim? Ama athitan, themgao ho jong athitauvin, ahileh nangman koi kahi tia naki gel ham?” atiuve.
54 Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. My Father is he who glorifies me, of whom ye say, He is our God.
Hichun Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Keima kichang choi-at na hol kahileh hichu keima ima hilou kahitai; ahinlah nanghon ka Pathen'u natiu kapa ama chun keima ei choi-at ding ahibouve.
55 And ye do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I will be a liar like you, but I do know him and keep his word.
Ahivangin nanghon ama chu nahe pouve, kenvang ama chu kahei, chuleh keiman ama chu kahepoi tileng keimatah hi nangho banga mijou kahi khah ding ahi, ahivangin keiman ama kahet jeh chun, amathu kangaiyin ahi.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he could see my day, and he saw it, and was glad.
Chuleh napau Abraham chun keima nikho mu ding anagal dot ahin, chule aman hichu anamun chuleh akipah lheh jengin ahi,” ati.
57 The Jews therefore said to him, Thou have not yet fifty years, and thou have seen Abraham?
Chuin Judah ho chun ajah'a, “Nangma kum somnga bon lhinglou laiya, iti nangin Abraham kamutai nati ham?” atiuve.
58 Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I am.
Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Keiman nangho atahbeh kaseipeh nahiuve, Abraham masanga keima ana umsa jing kahitai,” ati.
59 Therefore they took up stones so that they might throw at him, but Jesus was hid, and went out of the temple, having passed through the midst of them, and thus passed on.
Chuche phat chun, Judah hon ama sena dingin song akilah tauvin ahi, ahivangin alah'uva kon'in Yeshua chu akiseldoh in, Houin'a kon chun achemangtai.
