< John 4 >

1 When therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and immersing more disciples than John
Ibungona John-dagi mi masing henna tung-inbasing semduna baptize toure haiba Pharisee-singna tare haibasi Jisuna khangle.
2 (although Jesus himself did not immerse, but his disciples),
Asengbamakti Jisu masanadi makhoibu baptize touba natte mahakki tung inbasingna toubani.
3 he left Judea, and departed into Galilee.
Maram asina Ibungona Judea thadoktuna Galilee-da amuk hallammi.
4 And it was necessary for him to pass through Samaria.
Ibungogi khongchat adu Samaria phaoduna chatpa tarammi.
5 So he comes to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the place that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
Ibungona asum lakpada Sychar kouba Samaria-gi sahar amada thunglammi. Mapham adu Jacob-na mahakki machanupa Joseph-ta pikhiba lam machet adugi manaktani.
6 And Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore being wearied from the journey, thus was sitting on the well. It was about the sixth hour.
Jacob-ki oiramba guha adu mapham aduda leirammi; Ibungona lamsang chatpadagi waraduna guha adugi manakta phamthare. Pungpham adu numit yungba matamni.
7 A woman of Samaria comes to draw water. Jesus says to her, Give me to drink.
Tanja aduda Samaria-gi nupi amana mapham aduda ising sokpa laklammi, maduda Ibungona mangonda hairak-i, “Eingonda thaknaba ising khara pibiyu.”
8 For his disciples had gone away into the city so that they might buy food.
(Matamdu Ibungogi tung-inbasingna khunggang aduda chana thaknaba leiba chatkhibagi maramna Ibungo mathantamak leirammi.)
9 The Samaritan woman therefore says to him, How do thou, being Jewish, ask to drink from me, being a Samaritan woman, for Jews do not associate with Samaritans?
Maduda nupi aduna hairak-i, “Nahakti Jihudini aduga eina Samaria-gi nupini aduga kamdouna nahakna eingonda thaknaba ising piyu hairibano?” (Jihudisingdi Samaria-gi misingna sijinnaba kol-lik sijinnade.)
10 Jesus answered and said to her, If thou had known the gift of God, and who it is who says to thee, Give me to drink, thou would have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.
Jisuna khumlak-i, “Nahakna Tengban Mapugi khudol adu khanglamlaba aduga nangonda thaknaba ising piyu hairiba mahak adu kanano haiba khanglamlabadi, nahakna mangonda nijaramgadabani aduga mahakna nangonda hingba piba ising adu pibiramgadabani.”
11 The woman says to him, Sir, thou have not even a container, and the well is deep. From where then have thou the living water?
Nupi aduna hairak-i, “Ibungo, guha asisu yamna lui aduga nangonda ising sokkatnaba kon amattasu yaode aduga kadaidagi hingba piba ising adu lougadouribano?
12 Are thou greater than our father Jacob who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, and his sons, and his livestock?
Guha asibu piramba eikhoigi ipa ipu oiriba Jacob-tagi nahakna henna chaobra? Mahak masamak, machasing amadi mahakki sa sansingsu guha asigi ising thakkhi.”
13 Jesus answered and said to her, Every man who drinks of this water will thirst again,
Maduda Jisuna khumlak-i, “Guha asigi ising thakpa mi khudingmak amuk khouranglakkani
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will, no, not thirst into the age. But the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
adubu eina piba ising adu thakpa mi khudingmak adudi makhoida khourangba amuk hanna leiraroi. Eina pigadaba ising aduna makhoida hingba piba iphut oiraktuna makhoida lomba naidaba hingba pibigani.” (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
15 The woman says to him, Give me this water, sir, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw out.
Nupi aduna hairak-i, “Ibungo, eingonda khourangba amuk leitanaba aduga mapham asida ising sokpa amuk laktanaba eingonda ising adu pibiyu.”
16 Jesus says to her, Go, call thy husband, and come here.
Maduda Jisuna mangonda hairak-i, “Chatlu, nahakki napuroiba kouraklaga mapham asida lak-u.”
17 The woman answered and said to him, I have no husband. Jesus says to her, Thou said correctly, I have no husband.
Nupi aduna khumlak-i, “Eigi ipuroiba leijade.” Maduda Jisuna hairak-i, “Nahakki napuroiba leite haibadu achumbani.
18 For thou have had five husbands, and he whom thou now have is not thy husband. This thou have said true.
Achumbamakti, nahakki napuroiba manga leirammi aduga nahakka houjik leiminnariba nupa adusu nahakki napuroiba natte. Nahakna houjik haikhibadu yamna chummi.”
19 The woman says to him, Sir, I perceive that thou are a prophet.
Nupi aduna hairak-i, “Ibungo, nahak asi Mapu Ibungogi wa phongdokpa maichou ama oigani haiba eina khangjare.
20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where it is necessary to worship.
Eikhoi Samaria-gi ipa ipusingnadi Gerizim chingthak asida Tengban Mapubu khurumjei adubu nakhoi Jihudisingnadi Tengban Mapu khurumgadaba maphamdi Jerusalem-da oigadabani haina karigi hairibano?”
21 Jesus says to her, Woman, believe me, that the hour is coming when neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem will ye worship the Father.
Jisuna mangonda hairak-i, “Nupi, eibu thajou, nakhoina Ipa adubu ching asida chatlaga nattraga Jerusalem-da chatlaga khurumloidaba matam adu lakli.
22 Ye worship what ye do not know. We worship what we know, because salvation is from the Jews.
Nakhoi Samaria-singdi nakhoina khurumliba Mapu Ibungo mahakpu munna khangde adubu eikhoi Jihudisingdi eikhoina khurumliba Mapu Ibungo mahakpu khang-i maramdi aran-khubham asi Jihudisingdagi lakpani.
23 But an hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for also the Father seeks such kind who worship him.
Thamoi sengna khurumjaribasingna Ipa adubu thawaida amadi achumbada khurumgadaba matam adu lakli aduga matam adu houjik oisu oiri. Ipa aduna adugumna khurumjabasing adubu thiri.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
Tengban Mapudi Thawaini maram aduna Ibungo mahakpu khurumjabasingna thawaida amadi achumbada khurumjagadabani.”
25 The woman says to him, I know that Messiah comes, he who is called Christ. When that man comes he will declare all things to us.
Nupi aduna Ibungoda hairak-i, “Christta kouba Messiah adu lakkani haiba eina khang-i aduga mahakna lakpa matamda mahakna eikhoida maram pumnamak loina sandokna takpigani.”
26 Jesus says to her, I who speak to thee am the man.
Adudagi Jisuna mangonda hairak-i, “Nangonda wari sariba eihak asi mahak aduni.”
27 And upon this his disciples came. And they marveled that he spoke with the woman, yet no man said, What seek thou? or, Why do thou speak with her?
Tanja adumaktada Jisugi tung-inbasing adu mapham aduda hallaklammi. Ibungona nupi amaga wari sanaramba adu ubada makhoi yamna ngaklammi adum oinamak “Ibungona mangondagi kari pambage?” nattraga “Ibungona karigi mahakka wari saribano?” haina makhoina Ibungoda hanglamde.
28 The woman therefore left her water pot, and departed into the city, and says to the men,
Nupi aduna mahakki ising pun adu guha manakta thanamlaga mahakki khunda chenkhiduna khundugi misingda hairammi,
29 Come, see a man who told me all, as many things as I did. Is not this the Christ?
“Eina toukhi toukhiba khudingmak eingonda loina haibiba nupa ama yeng-u lao. Mahaksibu Christta adu oiramgadra?”
30 They went out of the city, and came to him.
Maram aduna miyam aduna khun adudagi thoraktuna Jisugi manakta laklammi.
31 In the meanwhile the disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
Cheirak aduda Jisugi tung-inbasingna Jisuda kanna haijarammi, “Oja Ibungo, khara chabiyu.”
32 But he said to them, I have food to eat that ye know not.
Maduda Ibungona khumlak-i, “Nakhoina sungkhang khangdaba eigi chanaba chinjak leire.”
33 The disciples therefore said to each other, Did any man bring him to eat?
Maram aduna Ibungogi tung-inbasing aduna makhoi masel amaga amaga hangnarammi, “Eikhoina chatthoklingeida kanagumba amana Ibungogi chanaba puraklamba oigadra?”
34 Jesus says to them, My food is that I do the will of him who sent me, and may finish his work.
Jisuna makhoida hairak-i, “Eigi chinjakti eibu thabirakpa Ibungo mahakki aningba touba amadi mahakki thabakpu mapung phana loisinba aduni.
35 Do ye not say, There are still four months and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields, that they are already white for harvest.
Nakhoina asumna hainaba nattra, ‘Tha mari leiraga lourok tha oirani?’ Adubu eina nakhoida hairi, loubuksing asida yeng-u! Makhoi khoingang sare khaoba yare.
36 And he who reaps receives a wage and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
Maru hunba mahakka akhaoba mahakka punna haraominnanaba, akhaoba mahak adu khutsuman phang-i amasung lomba naidaba hingbagi mahei khomjilli. (aiōnios g166)
37 For in this the saying is true, One is who sows, and another who reaps.
Hainaba asi achumbani, ‘Kanagumba mi amana maru hulli aduga atoppa kanagumba mi amana khao-i.’
38 I sent you to reap what ye have not labored. Others have labored, and ye have entered into their labor.
Nakhoina thabak suba yaorudaba loubukta khaorunanaba eina nakhoibu thare. Atoppa misingna awaba thabaksing adu subiramle aduga makhoina subirambagi kannaba adu nakhoina phangle.”
39 And many of the Samaritans from that city believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, He told me all, as many things as I did.
“Eina toukhi toukhiba khudingmak mahakna eingonda loina haibi” haina nupi aduna haibagi maramna khun adugi Samaria macha mayam amana Jisubu thajarammi.
40 So when the Samaritans came to him they asked him to remain with them, and he remained there two days.
Makhoina Ibungogi manakta lakpa matamda, Ibungobu makhoiga leiminnanaba makhoina Ibungoda kanna haijarammi, maram aduna Ibungona mapham aduda numit nini amaga leire.
41 And many more believed because of his word.
Aduga atoppa mi mayam amasu Ibungona haiba wa tabadagi thajare.
42 And they said to the woman, We no longer believe because of thy speaking, for we have heard ourselves, and know that this really is the Savior of the world, the Christ.
Makhoina nupi aduda hairak-i, “Houjikti nahakna haiba khaktadagi eikhoina thajaba nattre adubu eikhoi isamak Ibungona haiba tajare. Tasengnamak Ibungo mahak asi taibangpan asigi Kanbiba Mapu aduni.”
43 And after the two days he departed from there and went into Galilee.
Mapham aduda numit nini leiramlaba matungda, Jisuna Galilee-da chatlammi.
44 For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own fatherland.
Ibungo masamakna asumna haikhi, “Mapu Ibungogi wa phongdokpa maichousingdi makhoi masagi lamsingda ikai khumnabide.”
45 So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast.
Ibungona Galilee-da thungba matamda mapham adugi misingna Ibungobu taramna oklammi maramdi makhoina Lanthokpibagi chakkhangbagi thouramgidamak Jerusalem-da chatlubada mapham aduda Ibungona toukhiba thabak pumnamak loina makhoina ukhibagini.
46 Jesus therefore came again to Cana of Galilee where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.
Jisuna isingbu anggur mahi olhanbikhiba mapham Galilee-gi Cana kouba khun aduda Ibungona amuk hanna chatlammi. Aduga Capernaum-da leiba ningthougi phamnaiba amagi machanupa ama narammi.
47 This man having heard that Jesus comes out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and besought him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was going to die.
Jisuna Judea-dagi Galilee-da lakle haiba tabadagi mahakki sigadabagi phibamda nariba machanupa adubu phahanbinaba mahakna Jisugi manakta chattuna Capernaum-da lakpinanaba haijarammi.
48 Jesus therefore said to him, Unless ye may see signs and wonders, ye will, no, not believe.
Maduda Jisuna mangonda hairak-i, “Nakhoina khudamsing amadi angak angakpasing udriba phaoba nakhoina keidounungda thajaroi.”
49 The nobleman says to him, Sir, come down before my child dies.
Phamnaiba aduna khumlak-i, “Ibungo, eigi angang adu sidringeida lakpiyu.”
50 Jesus says to him, Go, thy son lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus said to him, and he departed.
Jisuna mangonda hairak-i, “Nayumda hallo, nahakki nachanupa naba pharagani.” Maduda phamnaiba aduna Jisuna mangonda haibiba wahei adu thajaduna mahakki mayumda chatpa hourammi.
51 And as he was now going down, his bondmen met him and reported, saying, Thy boy lives.
Mahakna hallakpagi lambida leireingeida mahakki macha adu naba phaduna hingle haibagi pao mahakki manaisingna mangonda puraklammi.
52 So he inquired of them the hour in which he fared well. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
Karamba matamda angang adu phagatlakkhibage hangbada makhoina khumlak-i, “Ngarang numit yungba matung pung ama taba matamda mahakki laihou adu khanghoudana thakhre.”
53 So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, Thy son lives. And he himself believed and his whole house.
Maduda Jisuna mangonda, “Nahakki nachanupa adu pharagani” haibikhiba pungja adumaktadani haiba mapa aduna khangle. Maram aduna mahak amadi mahakki imung manung loina Jisubu thajare.
54 This again is a second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
Masi Jisuna Judea-dagi Galilee-da laklaba matungda touba anisuba angakpa khudamni.
